Job Description
Position Overview The SBCA Senior Center is seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization in delivering high-quality programs and services for older adults in our community. The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership, oversee daily operations, and ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the center. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy Develop and implement the organization's strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the Senior Center Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven organizational culture Operations Management Oversee day-to-day operations, including programs, facilities, and administrative functions Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and community impact Financial Oversight Develop and manage the annual budget Ensure sound financial practices, including reporting, audits, and compliance Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants and donations Community Engagement & Fundraising Build and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and donors Lead fundraising initiatives and special events Increase community awareness and participation in Senior Center programs Human Resources Recruit, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers Promote professional development and team engagement Ensure HR policies and practices are followed consistently Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in business, nonprofit management, public administration, social work, or related field preferred Minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience, preferably in a nonprofit or community-based organization Strong financial management and budgeting experience Proven success in fundraising and grant writing Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills Passion for serving older adults and understanding of aging-related issues
