Job Description

Andrews House, Executive Director, Full Time Position Andrews House (AH) is a small 501c3 non-profit community services center. The purpose and mission of AH is to support and provide services for individuals and families and to collaborate with other service organizations and churches to respond to existing and emerging needs in the Delaware, Ohio area. The Executive Director provides the organizational leadership for Andrews House and reports to its Board of Directors. Andrews House seeks a talented and energetic leader with proven ability to develop, manage and evaluate multiple activities, programs and services.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Leadership & Managment of Organization Provides leadership and oversight of the AH vision, mission and values, carrying out policies and plans developed and adopted by the Board Engages the Board in discussion and activities designed to advance the organization and makes recommendations for Board approval/action Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and safety regulations and oversees inspections and compliance Program Development Develops, manages and evaluates all AH programs and services Recruits, manages and recognizes the talent and energy of AH volunteers Development Creates a development strategy to expand the base of support from businesses, corporations, foundations, organizations, and individuals Creates grant proposals and prepares grant reports to funding entities Develops event-based fundraising and annual solicitations Maintains the donor data base and formally acknowledges all gifts to AH Fiscal Management Prepares an annual budget for Board approval Oversees the day-to-day financial operations of AH with the goal of balancing the budget each year Authorizes and prepares lease agreements with the Resident Partners Oversees facility rental and other revenue generating activities Oversees fiscal compliance Community Relations Builds a community of advocates and patrons through positive and thoughtful community involvement Develops or oversees all communications Serves as the primary liaison with our partner churches and ensures regular communication with clergy, volunteers, and other members of each congregation/fellowship Embodies and nurtures the values of Andrews House among Resident Partners, volunteers, and other key constituents Performance Management Establishes a human resources strategy that includes hiring, development, and evaluation of staff Facility Managment Oversees all activities related to building maintenance and renovation to ensure a safe, comfortable and attractive space for Andrews House staff, Resident Partners, clients and guests Current programs and services include free Community Meals, free Legal Advice Clinics, Mobile Market Free Food Distribution, Famers' Market SNAP Program, Summer Lunch Program, AARP free Tax Preparation Services, Emergency Pantry, fiscal agent for Place of Warmth. Andrews House is also home to other non-profit agencies, and small, local help-giving organizations, which are known as Resident Partners. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience that includes demonstrated exposure in non-profit community relations, marketing, fundraising, volunteer management, or other relevant experience Management experience Here are some of the preferred experience and skills we are seeking: Excellent writing, communications, public speaking and media relations skills Ability to build effective and collaborative relations with a wide set of constituencies Grant writing experience Andrews House does not provide benefits other than vacation and paid holidays. We offer 8 paid established holidays, usually conforming to national holidays. In lieu of benefits, the successful candidate will receive additional compensation on a monthly basis toward those costs.
