Job Description

Organization Overview The United Way of Knox County is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to improving lives in Knox County, Ohio through strategic investment in Youth Opportunities, Financial Stability and Healthy Living. We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Executive Director to provide overall organization leadership and manage donor resource development efforts. Position Summary The Executive Director serves as the chief executive of the organization, with a primary focus on continual revenue growth. The successful candidate will drive workplace campaign development, cultivate major donor gifts, and plan and execute fundraising efforts. A smaller portion of the role includes support for Board relations, marketing oversight, and facilitation of the community investment grant application process with Partner Agencies. Responsibilities Fundraising & Resource Development (Primary Focus) Develop, lead, and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet and exceed annual revenue goals Design and manage workplace giving campaign efforts, including corporate and community-based initiatives Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and prospective donor relationship building in partnership with Resource Development Committee volunteers Plan, manage, and evaluate fundraising events, including donor cultivation and recognition activities Track resource development performance and provide regular reporting on progress toward goals Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, corporate partners, and community stakeholders Recruit, engage, and support volunteers serving on committees and fundraising initiatives Board & Partnership Relations Serve as the primary link between organizational committees and the Board of Directors, ensuring timely, transparent communication on all strategic matters and performance. Responsibilities include preparing comprehensive reports, managing Board and committee meeting logistics (agendas, minutes, materials), and implementing resolutions. Collaborate closely with professional accounting services to manage and oversee all financial operations, including the development of the annual budget, management of accounting functions (records, general ledger, and financial statements), and administration of cash flow and financial forecasting. Effectively coordinate with volunteers to ensure high performance and productivity. Delegate assignments clearly, implement communication strategies, and oversee all program and administrative execution. Foster a positive, supportive, and organized work environment promoting professional growth and accountability. Marketing & Communications Provide strategic oversight of organizational marketing and communications related to fundraising and programming efforts Collaborate with staff or vendors to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment Support donor communications, including appeals, newsletters, and campaign materials Grant Support Assist with identifying grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities Support the preparation, submission, and tracking of grant applications and reports
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
