Job Description

Young Chamber Musicians (YCM) is pleased to announce an opening for the position of Administrative Director. YCM is an award-winning nonprofit pre-college chamber music training program serving highly advanced young string players and pianists ages 14-19 from across the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. For nearly two decades, YCM has provided exceptional students with rigorous chamber music training in a supportive and inspiring environment, preparing them for futures as performers, advocates, and lifelong participants in the arts. We are seeking a collaborative, highly organized, and mission-driven professional who is passionate about music education and supporting exceptional young musicians. Working closely with Artistic & Executive Director Susan Bates, the Administrative Director will play a central role in supporting YCM's students, families, faculty, donors, and community partners.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing program schedules, calendars, and admissions processes Coordinating concerts, masterclasses, auditions, and public events Maintaining organizational systems including Google Workspace, website, and donor platforms Supporting fundraising, donor communications, grant writing, and nonprofit reporting Cultivating strong relationships with students, families, coaches, venues, and community partners The ideal candidate will bring strong administrative and communication skills, technological proficiency, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine passion for classical music and advanced music education. Experience in nonprofit administration, arts education, event management, and/or youth music programs is highly valued.
Position Details:
Full-time, exempt, year-round position Salary range: $85,000-$100,000 DOE Flexible hybrid remote/in-person schedule Onsite responsibilities in Burlingame during the academic season and at public events Start date: August 1, 2026 Applications are due June 5, 2026, and interviews will begin June 8.
