POSITION SUMMARY
Seeking Stillness Ministries (SSM) is a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for busy women to spend meaningful and restorative time with God. SSM began in 2010 and throughout the last 15 years has sponsored regular retreats of various lengths, devotionals, and workshops all with the purpose of exposing women to spiritual practices (various ways to pray, meditate, journal, etc.) and giving them space and quiet time to be with God. The ministry has been volunteer-led to this point with a few hours of contracted administrative support each month. Through the discernment of God's call, the Executive Director (ED) of Seeking Stillness Ministries is responsible for providing leadership, vision, guidance, and direction to the Ministry that aligns with its mission and values. The ED works closely with the Board of Directors in developing and conveying a vision for the future, formulating strategies, and building and stewarding financial resources.. The ED represents the Ministry to the community, partners, and donors. The current Executive Director/Founder will work with the new ED to ensure a smooth transition.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prays for God's direction of the Ministry and discerns God's call
  • Works closely with the Board to review and implement the strategic plan of the Ministry
  • Serves as the primary external communicator and representative for the Ministry.
  • Fosters meaningful partnerships with organizations that provide similar or complementary services.
  • Conveys a vision for the future and works with the Board to formulate action plans.
  • Cultivates and broadens the ministry's audience and builds the email mailing list ensuring that diverse communities are represented.
  • Develops relationships with faith-based non-profits and churches,
  • Develops marketing materials,
  • Creates and maintains a meaningful social media presence for the ministry,
  • Represents the ministry at community events that will create visibility,
  • Develops and manages the annual budget in collaboration with the Board and staff
  • Stewards the SSM financial resources within budget and ensures adequate internal controls.
  • Works with the Treasurer to oversee fiscal accountability, audits, and compliance with nonprofit financial regulations
  • Ensures compliance with government and regulatory requirements
  • Establishes and maintains organizational administrative processes
  • Contracts for services as necessary
  • Serves as ex-officio member of the Board and any committees as needed.
  • Works with the Board of Directors to formulate and implement fundraising strategies.
  • Develops annual offerings plans and budgets to support them
  • Provides timely, accurate information to the Board for informed decision-making
  • Works with the Board President to set agendas and generate reports
  • Assists in recruiting and training Board members.
  • Works with the Board to formulate and implement needed policies.
  • Works with the Board to formulate and implement fundraising strategies
  • Creates and maintains relationships with donors and grant providers.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit or related sector
  • Proven abilities in marketing, administration,, and working with a Board of Directors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Seeking Stillness Ministries.

Flexible, part-time (10 hours per week), occasional evenings/weekends required; some local travel will be necessary.
COMPENSATION
  • Salary:
    $15-18K per year
