Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Reports To:
Board of Directors Employment Type:
Full-Time (40 hours per week, including occasional evenings and weekends) Position Summary The Executive Director of the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce serves as the primary staff person and is responsible for the overall operations and administration of the Chamber. This role requires a dynamic individual capable of handling diverse responsibilities, ranging from bookkeeping and member management to marketing and community engagement. The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors, local officials, business leaders, and various county and town departments to support the Chamber's mission of facilitating connections, providing business education, and promoting member businesses.
Key Responsibilities Administrative and Financial Management:
Perform bookkeeping duties using QuickBooks Online, including managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. Oversee and manage member accounts using Chamber management software. Prepare the annual budget. Prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Directors.
Member Services:
Evaluate member needs and develop programs to address key areas of connections, business education, and promotion. Maintain regular communication with members, providing support and addressing inquiries promptly. Develop and manage membership retention and recruitment strategies.
Marketing and Communications:
Create and distribute promotional materials, including event flyers and a weekly newsletter. Manage the Chamber's social media presence and website content. Coordinate marketing efforts to promote Chamber events and programs.
Event Planning and Execution:
Plan, organize, and execute Chamber events, ensuring successful delivery and member engagement. Develop event budgets, secure sponsorships, and manage logistics.
Community and Public Relations:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with local officials, business leaders, and community organizations. Represent the Chamber at community events, meetings, and other public engagements. Collaborate with county and town departments to support economic development initiatives.
Strategic Planning:
Work with the Board of Directors to develop and implement the Chamber's strategic plan. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed to achieve goals. Provide leadership in the development of new programs and services to meet member needs.
Additional Duties:
Attend, coordinate, and participate in Board meetings, providing regular updates on Chamber activities and financial status. Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors to support the mission and goals of the Chamber. Qualifications Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field preferred, or Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a nonprofit or business membership-based organization. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Chamber management software. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, website design and maintenance, and design software for creating marketing materials. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required. Skills and Attributes Leadership and strategic thinking. Commitment to community service and member satisfaction. Compensation and Benefits $48,000-$55,000, commensurate with experience. Mileage reimbursement for activities related to the position.
