General Purpose of Job The AMI Analyst III serves as the senior operational and technical expert responsible for the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of Energy's Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS). This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and availability of meter data advanced monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational analytics. The AMI Analyst III provides day-to-day technical leadership and direction to the AMI Analyst team, coordinating workload priorities, promoting best practices, and supporting consistent operational performance. Acting as the primary escalation point for complex AMI issues, this role partners closely with the AMI Services Manager, IT, Billing, Engineering, and Member Services to ensure seamless system operation s and exceptional service delivery. While this is not a supervisory role, the AMI Analyst III is expected to guide, mentor, and support team members and lead operational initiatives that enhance the overall effectiveness , reliability, and transparency of AMI systems . System Optimization & Operations Serve as the senior operational technical lead for AMI and MDMS systems , ensuring reliability , performance, and data accuracy . Perform advanced troubleshooting of AMI communication networks, data interfaces, and system configurations. Lead operational testing , validation , and deployment of system upgrades, integrations, and configuration changes. Develop, refine, and document operational workflows and monitoring processes to enhance system performance and data quality. Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve complex operational issues and improve interoperability. Operational Data Analysis & Reporting Ana lyze AMI , MDMS, and MV90 data to identify operational trends, anomalies, and performance issues . Develop and maintain operational reports, dashboards, and metrics supporting billing accuracy, system health , and compliance. Validate AMI-related data to ensure consistency between metering, billing , and operational systems . Team Leadership & Mentorship Provide technical guidance, quality assurance , and support to AMI Analysts I and II. Coordinate daily operational priorities to ensure timely system monitoring, issue resolution, and data validation. Mentor team members to strengthen technical skills and promote continuous learning. Serve as the primary escalation point for complex AMI operational issues . Member & Departmental Support Support escalated member and departmental issues related to meter data anomalies, communication failures , or billing discrepancies . Partner with Billing, Member Services, and Revenue Recovery to ensure accurate meter and timely meter data . Support proactive issue resolution efforts to minimize member impact and improve transparency. Project Leadership & Process Improvement Lead operational AMI projects focused on system performance, monitoring enhancements, and workflow improvements. Identify and implement best practices for operational monitoring, validation, and alert management. Support the AMI Services Manager with operational evaluations, system assessments, and improvement initiatives. Document project objectives , progress, and outcomes to ensure accountability and alignment . Documentation & Training Develop and maintain operational documentation, standard operating procedures, and workflow diagrams related to AMI systems . Provide training and guidance for AMI users and new team members. Support business continuity through accurate documentation of critical AMI operational processes.
