Contract Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Payment Analyst / Payment Investigations Analyst to join our Payments Operations team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SWIFT payments, payment investigations, reconciliations, correspondent banking, and clearing and settlement operations . The candidate will be responsible for investigating payment inquiries, resolving exceptions, reconciling accounts, coordinating with internal and external banking teams, and ensuring timely and accurate resolution of payment-related issues. Key Responsibilities Investigate and resolve payment inquiries involving SWIFT messages such as MT103, MT202, MT110, MT199, and MT299 . Perform end-to-end payment investigations and identify root causes. Communicate with correspondent banks and financial institutions through SWIFT and other banking platforms. Follow up on payment confirmations, recalls, beneficiary information, and transaction resolutions. Reconcile Nostro accounts and investigate outstanding debit and credit entries. Coordinate with Operations, Treasury, Settlements, Compliance, and Customer Service teams. Monitor payment queues and investigation cases to meet quality and turnaround-time targets. Ensure compliance with operational controls, procedures, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements. Provide professional support to clients through email, phone, and other communication channels. Prepare MIS reports, operational reports, and performance metrics. Maintain accurate investigation documentation for audit and compliance purposes. Identify opportunities to improve payment processes and reduce operational risk. Required Qualifications 2-4 years of experience in Payments Operations, Banking Operations, Wire Transfer Processing, Payment Investigations, or Reconciliation. Strong knowledge of SWIFT messaging , including MT103, MT202, MT110, MT199, and MT299. Experience with international payments and correspondent banking . Strong understanding of payment investigations and Nostro reconciliation . Knowledge of clearing and settlement processes . Experience with funds recall processes and wire transfers. Experience working in a high-volume transactional environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook . Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting global payment operations. Knowledge of cross-border payments and treasury operations. Familiarity with banking regulations, risk controls, and compliance requirements. Experience with operational dashboards, KPI/MIS reporting, and client presentations. Experience with BaNCS Payments - SWIFT . Education Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field preferred. Important Requirement This is a fully onsite position in Cincinnati, OH. The selected candidate must be able to work from the office 5 days per week.
