They will be responsible for, both directly and indirectly, analyzing the company's habits, processes and procedures to identify, implement and sustain changes that eliminate waste and improving efficiency and operations using Lean and other problem-solving principles. They are also responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating the Quality program to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. The Manager sets quality assurance testing models for analysis of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products. The Manager demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures as well as relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The Manager may provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top-level contributor/specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Identify, evaluate and execute ideas for improvement o Facilitate continuous improvement events as assigned o Sustain change through process audits and ensure follow-up actions from all continuous improvement events are closed
- Create and roll-out necessary process documentation (e.g. Standard Work Instructions)
- Coordinate and lead improvement initiatives that are aligned to the company's annual strategic objectives using the DMAIC model o Use value-stream and process mapping to identify opportunities for improvement o Measure and report monthly on key performance indicators (KPIs) and annual measure to improve o Conduct root cause analysis and/or problem-solving sessions o Implement changes to improve efficiency o Monitor process change compliance and implement corrective actions as necessary • Drive a culture of improvement o Support and grow the "visual factory" through daily huddles and visual boards o Routine Gemba walks to identify areas for improvement o Coach others in Lean Principles and build problem-solving mindset to employees o Develop necessary training material in support of training and CI events Reviews technical problems and procedures for departments and recommends solutions to problems and changes in procedures.
- Take on new projects as directed that enhance strategic goals for the company growth.
- Serves as the Management Representative for AS9100 and other certifications GAC carries. Also serves as the AS9100 Coordinator and performs lead auditor duties.
- Develop and administer policies and procedures for evaluating and improving the quality of products, materials, components and/or manufacturing processes.
- Cooperate with other top management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures, and goals.
- Management Reviews o Analyzes, evaluates, and presents information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, economic trends, and design and development of new products for consideration by other members of management team (Management Review Meetings).
o Conduct management meetings with product assurance department heads to establish, delineate, and review program organizational policies, to coordinate functions and operations between departments, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
- Evaluate, review and report on customer-related issues or returns as necessary.
- Visits and confers with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality, capacity of vendor to meet orders, and vendor quality standards.
- Monitor and maintain the calibration and preventative maintenance procedures and systems in accordance with the AS9100 requirements.
- New Product Development o Confer with engineers about quality assurance of new products designed and manufactured products on market to rectify problems. o Suggest and debate alternative methods and procedures in solving problems and meeting changing market opportunities.
- Develops initial and subsequent modifications of product assurance program to delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements, and operational procedures within program.
- Supervises and assigns the inspection staff - assures that the staff is qualified and effective.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises 2 to 5 employees in the Quality and Continuous Improvement Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or similar discipline from an accredited college or university, MBA preferred Engineering Degree and several years work experience in a Manufacturing Quality environment preferred. Proficient in applicable analytical software and Microsoft Office Products including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc. Additional software application knowledge, such as statistical analysis tools, a plus. Experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment Familiarity with
ISO 9000
requirements and FMEA process desirable
