Job Description

Decision Support Analyst Position Summary Responsible for supporting organizational decision-making through financial, operational, and reimbursement analytics. Develops and maintains reporting, dashboards, cost and profitability analyses, reimbursement modeling, benchmarking, and decision support tools. Collaborates with Finance, Managed Care, Revenue Cycle, Clinical Operations, and executive leadership to improve financial performance, operational efficiency, reimbursement accuracy, and strategic planning.
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, Health Information Management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
Master's degree or advanced analytics coursework. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, What-If Analysis, formulas/functions, spreadsheet modeling, and data analysis.
Preferred:
Experience with Power BI, SQL, Access, Decision Support systems, Meditech, 3M, or healthcare analytics software. Experience 2-5 years of experience in healthcare finance, decision support, reimbursement analytics, cost accounting, managed care analytics, or business intelligence. Knowledge of hospital reimbursement methodologies, cost accounting, Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial reimbursement, DRGs, APCs, and physician payment methodologies. Experience developing financial reports, dashboards, benchmarking analyses, and executive-level reporting. Experience with contract modeling, profitability analysis, utilization analysis, and reimbursement research preferred. Job Specific Performance Expectations Develop and maintain financial, operational, and reimbursement reports and dashboards. Perform cost accounting, profitability, reimbursement, and utilization analyses. Support managed care contract modeling and reimbursement analysis. Maintain decision support databases and validate data integrity. Perform monthly cost allocation and reconciliation activities. Analyze internal and external benchmark data and identify improvement opportunities. Prepare executive reports and presentations for leadership. Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives. Collaborate with Finance, Revenue Cycle, Managed Care, HIM, Clinical Operations, and executive leadership. Research reimbursement methodologies, payer policies, and regulatory changes. Recommend process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency. Support software implementation, upgrades, testing, and report validation. Cross-train with the Managed Care Analyst and provide departmental backup support. Complete special projects assigned by the Director of Managed Care & Decision Support.
