This role serves as a subject matter expert in SCADA systems, plant monitoring, alarming, and remote operational support while driving improvements across Independent Power Producer (IPP) and transmission-level operations. The position collaborates closely with internal operations teams, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient fleet performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
SCADA Integration & Site Onboarding Support onboarding of new renewable generation and BESS sites into Survalent and AVEVA System Platform monitoring platforms.
AVEVA OMI
& System Platform Management Validate telemetry, controls, and alarming configurations to ensure data integrity and operational readiness. Support commissioning activities and post-energization system verification. Monitoring & Operational Support Perform ongoing validation of site telemetry, alarms, and system performance for existing fleet assets. Provide remote operational support for subcontractor activities, access requests, and troubleshooting. Act as a technical resource for ROC operators and field teams in resolving monitoring and control issues. Technical Audits & Compliance Support utility and internal audits related to inverter settings, protection settings, and operational configurations. Review and validate subcontractor-generated reports for accuracy and compliance. BESS Monitoring & Integration Develop subject matter expertise in BESS systems, monitoring strategies, alarming, and troubleshooting. Support planning, budgeting, and implementation of full remote BESS monitoring across the fleet. Evaluate software tools such as Fractal & Ignition and other monitoring platforms for operational optimization. Training & Continuous Improvement Assist in developing and delivering training programs for ROC operators on SCADA systems, renewable assets, and BESS operations. Support implementation of process changes and operational improvements across monitoring platforms. Identify and recommend improvements in IPP operations, procedures, training programs, and performance assessments. Identify and recommend improvements in transmission-level operations, procedures, training programs, and performance assessments.
General Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or
AAS / EET
required (degree in technical/engineering field of study preferred, but will consider past work experienc) Experience with PLCs, Industrial Automation, SCADA, alarm philosophy. Experience with
