Immediately Job Description Primary Purpose To support the vision, mission, and strategic priorities of ESC Region 12. The Continuous Improvement Specialist will serve as an expert in TEA Accountability and Continuous Improvement to drive academic excellence and regional success. This role provides high-level technical assistance through complex predictive data modeling, serves as the primary regional liaison for state assessment protocols, and facilitates data-driven strategic planning. By translating legislative policy into actionable campus improvements, the specialist ensures Local Education Agencies (LEAs) maximize their accountability ratings and optimize student outcomes. Qualifications Education/Certification Master's Degree Valid Texas Educator Certification Minimum of 3 years relevant Campus Leadership Experience Required Special Knowledge/Skills Strong ability to plan, create resources, and conduct professional development based on client needs Ability to facilitate difficult conversations and lead groups through the problem-solving process to reach consensus. Ability to research and interpret complex educational policies and translate raw data into actionable insights for school improvement. Deep knowledge of Texas curriculum standards (TEKS), statewide assessment protocols, and accountability frameworks. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; proven ability to deliver effective presentations to diverse groups. Highly organized self-starter able to coordinate complex projects and manage program logistics through proactive problem-solving. Ability to research/interpret complex policies and translate data into actionable insights using advanced software (spreadsheets and word processing). A collaborative team player committed to a positive workplace culture and continuous improvement through Quality Management System (QMS) initiatives. Dedicated to continuous personal and professional growth, including attending required professional development to remain a subject matter expert in the field. Extensive experience building complex predictive models to calculate "What-If" scenarios for Domain 1 (Student Achievement), Domain 2 (School Progress), and Domain 3 (Closing the Gaps). Demonstrate expertise in building and managing complex longitudinal data models to simulate "What-If" scenarios across all three TEA domains, ensuring leadership has a clear roadmap of potential ratings prior to official release. Serve as a resident expert on the annual TEA Accountability Manual, demonstrating the ability to rapidly synthesize legislative updates and administrative rule changes into actionable compliance checklists for school leaders. General Responsibilities Systematically compute raw scores and apply TEA scaling tools to evaluate performance in Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gaps, ensuring the "Better of" methodology is utilized to maximize the organization's final rating. Lead campus leadership teams in identifying "target" student populations and optimizing CCMR (College, Career, and Military Readiness) outcomes to shift performance tiers and improve the overall accountability profile. Serve as the primary regional point of contact between the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and ESC 12 districts for all state-mandated assessments (STAAR, TELPAS, etc.), ensuring the accurate and timely dissemination of regulatory information. Lead the training and support for District Testing Coordinators (DTCs) and campus personnel, focusing on standardized assessment procedures, rigorous security protocols, and state compliance requirements. Provide expert technical assistance on the implementation of the STAAR program, including the optimization of online testing platforms and the appropriate application of student accommodations. Design and deliver professional development and expert assistance for K-12 teaching, learning, and leadership, ensuring all content is research-based and aligned with district, state, and federal initiatives. Provide consultative support to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and campus leadership teams to foster "cutting-edge" thinking and modern pedagogical practices. Identify and promote regional best practices and research-based instructional strategies to improve student outcomes across all grade levels. Maintain and foster positive, proactive relationships with customer school districts and leadership teams through consistent communication and support. Communicate and collaborate with regional and statewide partners to represent ESC 12's interests and contribute to larger educational initiatives. Benefit Information ESC Region 12 provides monetary contributions up to $575 per month to use for employee/family healthcare and supplemental benefits.
