Advises the executive leadership team, while using continuous improvement and project management methodologies to drive initiatives forward..
Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist Job Responsibilities:
Partners with leaders to support high-profile projects that transform the way we care for patients across our health system, often acting as a strategic advisor system-wide projects sponsored by C-Suite team members. Leads cross-functional teams through a methodical process to assess, improve and sustain results while leveraging Project Management and Continuous Improvement best practices. Develops and delivers project communications which includes executive-level presentations. Coaches clinical and system service team members (executive and c-suite leaders) in Continuous Improvement fundamentals. Applies and teaches the Continuous Improvement toolset (DMAIC, process mapping, standard work, visual management, as examples) for use in a variety of settings including clinical, support, and executive. Participates in creating and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the team and across the organization by encouraging employees to identify areas for improvement and contributing to the development of a more efficient and effective organization. Mentors and supports the members of the Continuous Improvement team to advance their technical and adaptive skills. May perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience
  • 5 years of experience with Toyota Production System fluency Education
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree) Certification
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or ability to acquire within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
Continuous Improvement experience in the healthcare industry, preferably within health system environment. Demonstrated application of Lean, Toyota Production System, Six Sigma, DMAIC, process mapping, standard work, visual management, and related methodologies in clinical or healthcare operations settings. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence positive change in complex, enterprise-level problem areas, including issues that cross business functions, departments, or service lines. Resume should reflect specific, quantifiable results from prior improvement work; examples may include cycle time reduction, cost savings, throughput gains, quality improvement, waste reduction, or other validated performance outcomes. Experience influencing and coaching clinical, operational, and executive leaders in continuous improvement methods. Experience creating and delivering executive-level presentations and project communications. Demonstrated teaching and coaching mindset, with the ability and inclination to mentor junior team members while building continuous improvement capability across the organization through coaching, education, and practical application of CI tools and methods.
