Job Description
We are looking for a Director of Operations who is ready to own the day-to-day leadership of three thriving childcare locations while the CEO focuses on organizational growth, partnerships, and strategic vision. This is not an entry-level management role. This is a seat at the leadership table — a position for someone who has done this before , knows Alabama DHR regulations inside and out, and can walk into a room of directors and earn their respect on day one. Responsibilities Operations & Compliance Oversee daily operations across all three KCLC locations Ensure full DHR licensing compliance, including renewals and corrective action plans Lead Quality STARS maintenance and improvement initiatives Conduct regular site visits and operational audits People Leadership Directly supervise all three location directors Lead hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management at the director level Facilitate competency assessments for assistant directors Resolve personnel matters before they escalate to the CEO Enrollment & Revenue Monitor and drive enrollment growth toward full capacity utilization Oversee ProCare data integrity, re-registration campaigns, and enrollment reporting Support employer-sponsored childcare partnership development Provide weekly operational and enrollment reports to the CEO Programs & Compliance Oversee Camp SPARK summer enrichment program execution Manage CACFP compliance and reporting Support First Class Pre-K contract compliance across applicable locations What We are
Looking For Required:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in childcare or early education administration Prior experience supervising multiple site directors or locations simultaneously Working knowledge of Alabama DHR licensing regulations Strong proficiency in enrollment management systems (ProCare experience a plus) Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)Preferred:
