  Position Overview
  We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead day-to-day on-site operations supporting the U.

S. Army Flight School Next (FSN) program at Fort Rucker, Alabama.

Co-located with the Flight School Next team, the Site Manager will lead the on-site field support organization and directly supervise the Technical Support Representative and Fleet Sustainment & Spares Coordinator. This position is responsible for ensuring fleet availability, aircraft readiness, efficient parts flow, customer satisfaction, and safe, mission-ready sustainment of the training aircraft.

As the senior on-site leader, the Site Manager owns local execution and serves as the primary escalation point for maintenance, technical, and supply issues affecting fleet readiness. The ideal candidate combines aviation site and operations leadership experience with knowledge of rotary-wing flight training, aircraft maintenance, sustainment, and logistics operations.

Location & Travel

Permanent Location:

Fort Rucker, Alabama, co-located with the U.S. Army Flight School Next team.

Initial Assignment:

The first six months will require a hybrid assignment in Torrance, California.

Travel:

First 6 months: Up to 75

Permanent assignment: Up to 25, as required

Essential Job FunctionsSite Operations Leadership

Lead day-to-day site operations supporting the U.S. Army Flight School Next program.

Ensure fleet availability and aircraft readiness to meet Army flight-training requirements.

Oversee safe and compliant execution of aircraft maintenance support, sustainment, and parts activities.

Manage site schedules, resources, staffing, and daily operational priorities.

Coordinate technical-support and parts/logistics functions to meet mission requirements.

Identify and resolve operational issues that could impact aircraft availability or training operations.

Team Leadership & Management

Directly supervise, develop, and evaluate the on-site Technical Support Representative and Fleet Sustainment & Spares Coordinator.

Establish priorities and coordinate workloads across maintenance-support and parts-coordination functions.

Serve as the primary escalation point for Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events, technical issues, and supply-chain shortfalls.

Conduct performance management, coaching, and professional development for direct reports.

Ensure personnel are properly trained, equipped, and staffed to meet operational requirements.

Foster a safety-first, accountable, and team-oriented working environment.

Customer & Mission Readiness

Serve as the senior day-to-day on-site point of contact for the customer at Fort Rucker.

Maintain strong working relationships with customer leadership, maintenance personnel, and program stakeholders.

Support operational readiness reviews and fleet-health assessments.

Ensure timely resolution of customer issues affecting flight-training operations.

Coordinate customer engagement with senior leadership and business-development personnel as required.

Maintain focus on aircraft availability, customer satisfaction, and overall mission readiness.

Program & Cross-Functional Coordination

Coordinate with Program Management regarding site-level cost, schedule, performance, and operational requirements.

Interface with engineering, product support, logistics, supply chain, customer success, business development, and program-management teams.

Consolidate site reporting from technical-support and fleet-sustainment personnel.

Identify and initiate operational improvements to increase aircraft availability, reduce operating costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

Support aircraft fielding, sustainment, maintenance, and logistics initiatives.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare site-status reports, fleet-readiness updates, operational reports, and customer briefings.

Maintain required site records, documentation, and configuration-management compliance.

Track, monitor, and report established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Monitor fleet availability and mission-capable status.

Track AOG response and resolution.

Monitor component overhaul completion rates.

Track parts availability and fill rates.

Identify trends and operational risks that could impact program performance or fleet readiness.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

7+ years of site, aircraft maintenance, or operations-management experience, preferably within aviation, aerospace, military, or defense environments.

Previous direct supervision of technical and/or logistics personnel.

Demonstrated experience leading technical and customer-facing teams.

Experience with employee performance management, coaching, and development.

Strong understanding of aviation maintenance, sustainment, logistics, and operational-readiness principles.

Strong customer-service and relationship-management skills.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and risk-management capabilities.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Jira, ERP systems, and maintenance/ticketing applications.

Ability to work onsite at Fort Rucker, including hangar and flight-line environments.

Ability to work occasional weekends based on maintenance and operational requirements.

Ability to travel as required.

U.S. Citizenship required.

Current passport required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a rotary-wing flight-training or aircraft-sustainment environment.

5+ years of experience maintaining or supporting the specific helicopter platform used by the program.

FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) ratings.

Military aviation or Department of Defense program experience.

Experience managing aircraft fleet readiness, AOG response, maintenance support, or aviation logistics operations.

Experience leading an embedded field-support organization.

Previous experience working directly with military aviation customers.

Work Environment

This position is primarily based onsite at Fort Rucker, Alabama, and includes work in office, hangar, and active flight-line environments.

Work hours are generally Monday through Friday based on operational requirements. Occasional weekend or extended-hours support may be required based on aircraft maintenance, AOG events, and mission requirements.

Compensation

$120,000

• $140,000 annually, dependent on experience and qualifications.

This is a full-time, direct-hire position.
