Job Description

Finance & Business Operations Senior Manager
ALGAM USA
- Help Build the Future of a Growing Music Company Benicia, CA | Full-Time | In Person About
ALGAM USA ALGAM USA
is the U.S. subsidiary of Algam SAS, Europe's largest musical instrument distributor. We import and distribute premium musical instrument brands, including LÂG Guitars, Ashdown Engineering, Quik Lok Stands, Eko Guitars, Kernom Pedals, and more, to retailers throughout North America. We are still in startup mode, which means every person on our team has a direct, meaningful impact on the business. We are musicians, gear enthusiasts, and problem-solvers who enjoy working hard, having fun, and building something special together. If you're looking for a position where you'll simply maintain the status quo, this isn't it. The right candidate is energized by growth and the opportunity to help shape an organization from the inside out. Role Summary (The Opportunity) We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and financially minded professional to manage the operational heartbeat of our company. Working directly alongside the CEO, you will oversee the financial and operational mechanics of the business—from managing the day-to-day books, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable to handling purchasing, inventory, and cross-functional process improvements. This is an agile, hands-on role in an entrepreneurial environment suited for someone who wants to build a career, not just collect a paycheck. We need a resourceful self-starter who takes complete ownership, solves problems without waiting for direction, and understands how a business truly runs. One morning you may be reconciling vendor accounts or analyzing inventory turnover; that afternoon you might be stepping up to help receive an international container alongside the rest of the team. If you thrive in a dynamic setting and want to grow alongside a scaling company, you will fit right in. Job Overview (What You'll Do) Finance & Accounting Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Reconcile customer and vendor accounts, resolve discrepancies, and perform three-way invoice matching. Support month-end financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and operational business analysis. Collaborate closely with our external accounting partner to maintain financial integrity. Identify and implement continuous improvements to financial accuracy and internal controls. Business Operations Partner directly with the CEO on day-to-day operational execution and company priorities. Design, refine, and implement scalable workflows and operating procedures. Help manage purchasing cycles, vendor relationships, and cross-departmental projects. Build actionable reporting and dashboards that empower leadership to make data-driven decisions. Inventory, Purchasing & Logistics Maintain accurate inventory tracking across multiple warehouse locations. Coordinate inbound international freight shipments and liaise with freight forwarders and customs brokers. Monitor stock thresholds, optimize replenishment planning, and analyze purchasing trends.
What We're Looking For Experience:
3-8 years of hands-on experience in accounting, finance, and business operations.
Core Competencies:
Proven command of AP/AR workflows, general ledger reconciliations, and financial reporting standards.
Technical Skills:
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency; comfort navigating or adopting modern ERP platforms (Zoho experience is a strong plus).
Industry Background:
Prior experience in wholesale distribution, manufacturing, or import logistics is a plus.
Communication & Execution:
High level of organizational discipline, exceptional attention to detail, and strong written/verbal communication skills.
Cultural Alignment:
A personal passion for music—whether you are an active musician, gear collector, or live music enthusiast—is a major bonus. Why
ALGAM USA?
High-Impact Collaboration:
Work directly with the CEO and gain broad exposure to every facet of running a commercial enterprise.
Merit-Based Growth:
Expand your career based on performance, accountability, and impact, not corporate tenure.
Entrepreneurial Culture:
Enjoy a casual, collaborative, music-centric work environment where your ideas are heard and executed.
Perks:
Generous employee discounts on premium musical instruments and audio gear. How to Apply Please submit your resume along with a few sentences telling us why this opportunity aligns with your goals. We value curiosity, drive, and hands-on capability over a rigid cover letter.
