Within it, the Strategy & Operations team sets direction, drives operational rigor, and turns the company's biggest bets into executed plans.

We are hiring a senior Strategy & Operations leader to drive Partnerships strategy across Instagram's Video and New Bets — the emerging, high-priority initiatives shaping the future of video and entertainment on the platform. This is a strategy-first role for a seasoned operator who can motivate teams, act as a trusted strategic advisor to Product and cross-functional partners, and bring clarity and momentum to ambiguous, fast-moving work. As priorities evolve, the mandate flexes across Instagram's newest and most important bets.
Strategy & Operations Director, Video Responsibilities:
Set strategic direction for Partnerships across Video and New Bets — partner with leadership to define objectives, priorities, and success metrics, and translate an emerging vision into actionable plans Be a strategic advisor to Product and XFN — bring an outside-in point of view, challenge and sharpen thinking, and help partners make faster, better decisions Motivate and align teams — rally cross-functional teams around a shared agenda, create clarity in ambiguity, and drive momentum without direct authority Bring deep content-ecosystem fluency — understand how the creator and entertainment ecosystem works end to end, including partnerships, deals, and partner management, and use that context to inform strategy Install the operating system — build the cadence, prioritization, and decision-making rhythm (business reviews, planning, leadership meetings) that keep a large effort aligned and moving Deliver executive-grade synthesis — turn messy inputs into crisp briefs, narratives, and recommendations for senior leadership Lead cross-functional initiatives and unblock escalations — stand up working groups, drive to root cause, and restore momentum on stalled priorities
Minimum Qualifications:
12+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, management consulting, or a related analytical function within a technology, media, or digital content company 12+ years of experience translating complex, ambiguous business problems into structured analytical frameworks and actionable strategic recommendations for executive audiences Experience working within or supporting partnerships, business development, content, or media functions, with demonstrated understanding of entertainment and partner ecosystems, content acquisition and creator dynamics Experience leading cross-functional strategic planning processes, including goal-setting, prioritization, and performance measurement at an organizational or business-unit level Experience influencing senior leadership and executive stakeholders through written strategic narratives, data-driven recommendations, and structured decision-making frameworks
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies Demonstrated track record of building influential cross-functional partnerships with Product, Content, and Business Development teams that resulted in measurable business outcomes Experience operating within a large-scale social media, streaming, or digital video platform, with familiarity in content partnerships, creator programs, or video ecosystem development Experience leading strategy or operations functions through periods of significant platform or market transition, including the ability to reframe partnership priorities in response to competitive or ecosystem shifts Genuine love for Meta's products and a real excitement about Instagram and the opportunity to build new bets from the ground up Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
