$110,000-$165,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications Position Overview Diligence Security Group (DSG) is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to provide executive-level leadership across its Northern and Southern California operations. This position is responsible for the overall performance of DSG's armed and unarmed security services, Safety Ambassador programs, GSOC and dispatch operations, event security, and specialized security services. The Director of Operations will oversee operational strategy, workforce performance, financial accountability, contract execution, client satisfaction, compliance, and organizational growth. This individual will work directly with the Chief Executive Officer to build scalable systems, strengthen leadership accountability, and maintain consistent operational standards across all regions. Availability This is a full-time, salaried exempt position based at DSG Headquarters in Oakland, California. The Director of Operations must have the flexibility to respond to critical operational matters, client escalations, and executive needs outside standard business hours when necessary. Travel to DSG offices and client locations throughout California is required based on operational needs. Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Leadership Direct daily operations across DSG's security service divisions and regional markets. Lead Operations Managers, Account Managers, Field Supervisors, GSOC leadership, Dispatch Supervisors, and other operational personnel. Establish clear reporting structures, performance expectations, and leadership accountability. Develop and maintain company-wide operational policies, procedures, and SOPs. Conduct operational audits, site inspections, and quality assurance reviews. Lead responses to critical incidents and significant operational escalations. Develop scalable operational systems to support new contracts and regional growth. Workforce Management Oversee staffing, scheduling, deployment, and labor forecasting. Monitor overtime, vacancies, absenteeism, turnover, and retention. Partner with Human Resources and Recruiting to maintain appropriate staffing levels and talent pipelines. Develop operational leaders through coaching, performance management, and succession planning. Ensure staffing strategies align with contractual requirements and financial objectives. Financial Management Manage operational budgets and monitor financial performance. Monitor labor costs, overtime, and contract profitability. Identify and implement operational cost-control measures. Partner with Accounting to support payroll and billing accuracy. Develop staffing and operational forecasts for existing and new business. Client & Contract Management Serve as the senior operational liaison for key clients. Ensure contractual requirements, SLAs, KPIs, staffing commitments, and reporting requirements are achieved. Lead Quarterly Business Reviews and executive-level operational meetings. Manage significant client concerns and corrective action plans. Support contract renewals, expansions, RFP/RFQ responses, transition plans, and new contract mobilizations. Security Technology & Infrastructure Provide oversight of GSOC and dispatch operations. Support CCTV, access control, alarm, remote monitoring, and integrated security technology initiatives. Support development of drone-enabled security programs where legally authorized and operationally appropriate. Evaluate technology that improves service delivery, operational visibility, and efficiency. Strengthen operational dashboards and performance reporting. Risk & Compliance Ensure compliance with applicable California
BSIS/PPO
requirements, client standards, and company policies. Oversee operational incident reviews and internal investigations. Maintain appropriate workplace safety and OSHA standards within operations. Implement risk-mitigation strategies designed to reduce operational liability. Ensure significant incidents and corrective actions are properly documented and addressed. QualificationsEducation & Certifications Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Security Management, Public Safety, or a related field required. Master's Degree preferred. Valid California Guard Card preferred. Valid California Driver's License with an acceptable driving record required. Required Experience Minimum 10+ years of senior-level leadership experience overseeing security operations, law enforcement, military security, protective services, or complex public-safety operations. Professional law enforcement experience required. Demonstrated experience managing multi-site or multi-region operations. Experience leading managers, supervisors, and large distributed workforces. Experience managing armed and unarmed security operations. Experience with workforce planning, labor management, budgeting, and contract performance. Working knowledge of California BSIS and PPO regulatory requirements. Military service and veteran leadership experience strongly preferred , particularly experience involving security operations, force protection, military police, command leadership, or emergency management.
