Discover a more connected career At VCI, the Director of Operations is a senior leader responsible for overseeing large-scale telecommunications operations across multiple markets, programs, or regions. This role provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable execution of construction and maintenance activities while aligning field operations with company objectives. The Director of Operations plays a critical role in driving performance, developing leaders, managing financial results, and strengthening customer partnerships. What you'll do Provide strategic leadership and oversight for telecommunications operations across assigned regions or programs. Own operational performance including safety, quality, schedule, cost controls, and profitability. Lead, mentor, and develop Operations Managers, Program Managers, and senior field leaders to build strong leadership pipelines. Partner with executive leadership, customers, and internal stakeholders to align operational execution with business goals. Maintain accountability for financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, margin improvement, and cost management. Analyze operational metrics and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, implementing corrective actions where needed. Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies across all operations. Support business growth through customer engagement, contract execution, and operational readiness for new programs or expansions. Serve as a senior escalation point for complex operational, customer, or personnel issues. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, HR, and Training teams to support hiring, development, and retention of operational leaders. What you'll need Authorization to work in the United States for this company. Proven experience in a senior operations leadership role within telecommunications or related construction industries. Demonstrated experience overseeing multi-market or multi-program operations. Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L, budgets, and forecasts. Proven ability to lead and develop managers and senior leaders. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including customer- facing and executive-level interactions. Ability to manage complexity and competing priorities in a fast-paced, high- accountability environment. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office; working knowledge of operational, project, and workforce management systems. Willingness to travel as required to support regional operations.
