OPERATIONS MANAGER
Mile Hi Express - Aurora, Colorado Refrigerated & Frozen Warehousing and Transportation Mile Hi Express is seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to lead our day-to-day warehouse and transportation operations. This is a key leadership position responsible for keeping our operation running safely, efficiently and reliably. The ideal candidate is a strong manager who can lead people, solve problems, improve processes and step in wherever needed to keep freight moving and customers taken care of.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and coordinate daily warehouse, shipping, receiving and transportation operations Supervise, coach and develop warehouse associates and drivers Coordinate daily deliveries, routes, staffing and operational priorities Ensure inbound and outbound freight is received, staged, loaded and delivered accurately and on schedule Maintain strong inventory controls and warehouse organization Track and resolve OS&D (Overages, Shortages & Damages) and communicate issues promptly to customers Maintain and improve warehouse operating procedures and workflows Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, DOT and company safety requirements Oversee preventive maintenance for warehouse equipment, tractors, refrigerated trailers and other company equipment Coordinate repairs and ensure equipment and facilities remain in safe working condition Monitor operating expenses and identify opportunities to control costs and improve productivity Lead process-improvement projects and help implement operational changes Communicate professionally with customers regarding deliveries, inventory, OS&D and other operational matters Prepare operational reports and customer updates Assist with scheduling appointments, phones and administrative responsibilities when necessary Work closely with ownership and management to identify and resolve operational issues Perform other responsibilities reasonably associated with managing the operation
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proven operations management experience, preferably in warehousing, distribution, transportation or trucking Demonstrated experience hiring, training, coaching and managing employees Prior transportation/trucking experience Strong understanding of warehouse shipping, receiving and inventory-control processes Forklift experience/certification Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA and workplace safety requirements Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced operation Strong problem-solving and process-improvement mindset Dependable, accountable and willing to take ownership of problems through resolution Strong work ethic and team-oriented approach Willingness to be hands-on and assist the operation when necessary Flexibility to work outside normal hours when operational needs require it

Pay:
$105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
