Air Tanker Base Manager- Retardant Operations About HRC Fire HRC Fire is a leader in wildland fire support operations, providing highly trained personnel, retardant mixing, and airtanker base services throughout the United States. Our teams play a critical role in supporting aerial firefighting operations by ensuring aircraft are loaded safely, efficiently, and ready to respond when every minute counts. Position Summary This is a Full-Time Seasonal position. Work schedule is derived from federal contract dates of operation. May 1 through September 30 (Location Open) 5 days per week/9 hours per day October 1 through April 30 (Location Closed) 1 day per week/3-4 hours for winter recirculation. The Air Tanker Base Manager is responsible for the overall operation, personnel management, and contract compliance at airtanker bases. This position oversees day-to-day operations, ensures all Federal and State contract requirements are met, manages equipment and personnel, and maintains a safe, efficient, and professional work environment. The Base Manager works closely with Regional Managers and Regional Personnel Managers to support wildland firefighting operations throughout the fire season. Primary Responsibilities Manage all daily operations of an assigned airtanker base. Supervise, train, and mentor base personnel. Ensure compliance with USFS, OSHA, and company policies. Oversee the mixing, storage, testing, and loading of

fire retardant. Monitor aircraft loading operations and support safe operations. Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs of base equipment. Maintain employee training records and personnel documentation. Manage staffing levels based on fire activity and aircraft availability. Track budgets, inventory, consumables, and personnel hours. Conduct safety meetings and promote a strong safety culture. Coordinate with agency personnel and company leadership throughout the fire season.
