Pawnee Waste is looking for a Field Operations Manager to run daily operations at our Grover, Colorado landfill. If you have built your career moving earth, running crews, and keeping equipment productive, we want to talk, even if you have never worked at a landfill. We will teach you the landfill side; you bring the field leadership and dirt experience. About the Role As Field Operations Manager, you are the primary field leader on site. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will direct daily activities, make real-time calls as conditions change, and keep work moving safely and efficiently across all shifts. What You'll Do Lead and direct daily field operations across all work areas Set priorities and keep crews on task, safe, and productive Make real-time decisions as site conditions and workloads shift Oversee equipment assignments, utilization, and maintenance coordination Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and training to operators and field staff Enforce safety standards and correct unsafe conditions on the spot Support permit, procedure, and regulatory compliance Coordinate work between shifts and communicate issues to management What We're Looking For Strong background in dirt work, earthmoving, heavy civil, construction, or industrial operations Hands-on knowledge of heavy equipment operation and site work practices Proven ability to lead crews and manage work in real time Solid communication and leadership skills in a multi-shift environment Drive to learn landfill operations quickly; this is a required, core expectation of the role, and we will train you Valid driver's license (company vehicle provided) Landfill or waste experience is preferred, not a requirement. Dirt work experience and the ability to lead in the field matter most. This is a fully on-site role, so a dependable daily commute is essential. Pawnee Waste operates around the clock, so the schedule is primarily weekdays with some weekends and additional hours as operational needs require. Physical Requirements Work is performed in both office and outdoor settings across varying weather. The role involves frequent walking and bending, occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds, exposure to moderate-to-high noise and regulated waste materials, and required use of PPE on site.
