We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Solar Operations Manager to lead and scale our installation, construction, and service operations across multiple states. This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for installation quality, service delivery, inspection success rates, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable leading crews in the field, resolving complex operational challenges, developing scalable processes, and collaborating with office-based teams to drive business growth. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence the future of SAVKAT's field operations and play a critical role in our continued expansion. Position Summary The Solar Operations Manager is responsible for the performance, safety, quality, and profitability of all field operations, including: Residential solar installations Battery energy storage systems Roofing projects Service and warranty operations Site surveys Field quality assurance Subcontractor management This leader will oversee internal teams and subcontractors while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards, utility requirements, financing partner requirements, and applicable codes. The successful candidate will be accountable for maintaining: ≥90% first-time inspection pass rate ≥90% financier approval pass rate Strong customer satisfaction scores Efficient cycle times from installation through activation High standards of safety and workmanship Key ResponsibilitiesField Operations Leadership Lead all installation, construction, and service operations across SAVKAT's service territories. Manage internal crews, subcontractors, and field personnel. Oversee workforce planning, staffing, and scheduling to maximize installation throughput and operational efficiency. Conduct regular field visits to support crews, maintain quality standards, and resolve escalated issues. Drive accountability through performance metrics, coaching, and ongoing training. Service & Warranty Operations Oversee all service, warranty, and troubleshooting activities. Manage escalated customer concerns while maintaining a five-star customer experience. Ensure timely diagnosis and resolution of: Solar system issues Battery system issues Roof leaks Electrical deficiencies Monitoring and communications failures Develop efficient service processes and performance standards. Quality Assurance & Compliance Ensure compliance with: NEC requirements OSHA regulations Local building codes Utility requirements Manufacturer specifications Maintain a minimum 90% first-time inspection pass rate. Conduct quality control audits and job-site inspections. Identify trends in rework and implement corrective actions. Safety Leadership Promote a safety-first culture throughout the organization. Conduct regular safety meetings and documented training sessions. Perform vehicle, equipment, ladder, and tool audits. Ensure proper PPE usage and OSHA compliance. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Engineering, Permitting, Interconnection, and Project Management teams to ensure jobs are installation-ready prior to scheduling. Collaborate with utility companies and AHJs to address technical or inspection-related challenges. Work closely with warehouse and procurement teams to maintain adequate inventory and equipment availability. Review and validate site surveys for constructability and code compliance. Financing & Documentation Compliance Ensure complete and accurate collection of all installation documentation required for project funding and milestone approvals.
Oversee collection and submission of:
Installation photos Equipment serial numbers Inspection approvals Completion documentation Financier-specific requirements Work closely with operations leadership to prevent funding delays caused by incomplete or incorrect field documentation. Subcontractor Management Recruit, evaluate, and manage subcontractors and specialty trade partners.
Coordinate:
Tree removal Roofing services Trenching Electrical support Dumpster and logistics services Other construction-related services Ensure all subcontractors adhere to SAVKAT standards for safety, quality, schedule, and professionalism. Operational Performance & Reporting Monitor key operational metrics including: Inspection pass rates Installation cycle times Rework rates Service response times Customer satisfaction Installation productivity Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Support labor forecasting, budgeting, and cost-control efforts. Maintain accurate records within Zoho CRM and operational platforms. QualificationsRequired 3+ years of residential solar operations, construction, or installation management experience. Proven experience managing field teams and subcontractors.
Strong understanding of:
Solar PV systems Residential electrical systems Roofing systems Battery storage technologies Utility interconnection processes Ability to read and interpret: Electrical plans Structural plans Permit packages Utility specifications Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed. Preferred Multi-state solar operations experience. NABCEP Certification. OSHA 30 Certification. Electrical licensing experience.
