Job Description

K&J Tree Service is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Director of Operations to lead our field operations, develop our operational leaders, and build the systems and accountability needed to support continued growth. With 15+ crews in the field, state-of-the-art equipment, and a strong reputation for quality and service, we're looking for a proven field operations leader who can bring structure, discipline, and strong leadership to a fast-paced organization. This is a high-impact leadership role with real authority and accountability. You'll lead through managers and frontline leaders while staying connected to what's happening in the field. What You'll Own Overall field execution, productivity, quality, and operational performance Leadership, coaching, and accountability of operations managers and frontline leaders Scheduling, production planning, and resource allocation Fleet, equipment, and shop readiness Safety performance and compliance Operational KPIs, including labor efficiency, overtime, productivity, and schedule performance Implementation and continuous improvement of operational systems and SOPs Strong coordination between Sales, Scheduling, Fleet, and Field Operations What We're Looking For 7+ years of progressive operations leadership experience 3-5+ years leading field-based service operations Proven experience leading managers and frontline supervisors Experience overseeing 40+ field employees or a multi-crew operation Experience in tree service, landscaping, construction, excavation, utilities, or a similar field-based industry Experience with CDL workforces, commercial vehicles, and heavy equipment Strong safety, performance management, and operational leadership skills Experience using KPIs and data to drive performance Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Who You Are A strong leader who develops other leaders Field-respected and comfortable on job sites A builder and operator who creates structure and accountability Decisive, steady, and solutions-oriented Comfortable holding people accountable and addressing performance issues A systems thinker who solves root causes, not just today's problem
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
