Job Description

The Opportunity At The RV Shop, we believe world-class RV services requires world-class leadership. As our General Manager, you'll be responsible for driving the daily operations of our service organization while building a culture centered around accountability, efficiency, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service. This isn't a position that requires you to be the most technically knowledgeable RV technician in the building. Instead, we're looking for an operational leader who can evaluate processes, remove inefficiencies, develop people, and create an environment where technicians, advisors, and support staff can consistently perform at their highest level. You'll oversee service operations from intake through final delivery, ensuring projects remain on schedule, customers receive outstanding communication, and the business continues to grow through operational excellence. Your leadership will directly impact employee engagement, customer satisfaction, production efficiency, profitability, and The RV Shop's continued growth. What You'll Do ➢
Lead Daily Operations:
Oversee daily service department operations, ensuring workflow, staffing, scheduling, and production remain efficient and aligned with company goals. ➢
Drive Process Improvement:
Evaluate operational processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements that increase productivity, consistency, and customer satisfaction. ➢
Manage Production Flow:
Work closely with Service Advisors, Foremen, and production teams to ensure projects move efficiently from intake through completion and customer pickup. ➢
Develop High-Performing Teams:
Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop employees while fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement. ➢
Monitor Performance Metrics :
Establish and track key performance indicators including production efficiency, cycle time, customer satisfaction, quality, profitability, and employee performance. ➢
Support Customer Experience:
Ensure customers receive clear communication, accurate expectations, and a consistently exceptional experience throughout the repair process. ➢
Oversee Service Writing Operations:
Partner with Service Advisors to ensure repair orders are complete, accurate, properly documented, and communicated effectively to customers and technicians. ➢
Coordinate Projects:
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing staffing, scheduling, vendor coordination, customer expectations, and operational priorities. ➢
Manage Financial Performance:
Monitor departmental budgets, labor utilization, expenses, purchasing, and operational costs while identifying opportunities to improve profitability . ➢
Collaborate Across Departments :
Work closely with Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Leadership to align operational goals and support company-wide initiatives. ➢
Promote Safety & Compliance:
Ensure company policies, OSHA requirements, safety procedures, and operational standards are consistently followed throughout the facility. ➢
Lead Continuous Improvement:
Build scalable systems, develop standard operating procedures, and continuously improve how work is planned, executed, and measured. Preferred Experience & Qualifications The following certifications are preferred but not required: ➢ Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field preferred. ➢ 5+ years of leadership experience managing service, operations, construction, manufacturing, automotive, RV, or related production environments preferred. ➢ Experience with service writing, estimating, customer communication, and production scheduling strongly preferred. ➢ Residential construction project management, restoration, remodeling, roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or similar operational leadership experience highly preferred. ➢ Experience implementing or improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), KPIs, Lean processes, or workflow optimization initiatives. ➢ Strong understanding of budgeting, labor management, scheduling, inventory coordination, and operational planning. ➢ Proficiency with ERP, CRM, or shop management software along with Microsoft Office Suite.
