Field Operations & Crew Dispatch Morning Dispatch & Scheduling:
Lead morning crew meetings, assign daily work orders, plan routes, and verify attendance and crew allocations for Crew Leaders and field technicians.
On-Site Supervision:
Conduct regular site visits across commercial and residential maintenance and installation projects to oversee standard operating procedures (mowing, pruning, irrigation checks, planting, and hardscape installation).
Contingency Management:
Handle sudden weather changes, on-site equipment breakdowns, or staffing shortages by promptly adjusting schedules and routes.
Quality Control & Project Delivery Site Inspections:
Conduct routine walkthroughs to ensure landscape maintenance and installation quality strictly align with contract scopes and design blueprints.
Punch List Management:
Identify, document, and resolve site deficiencies to ensure all deliverables meet client expectations and industry standards.
Milestone Acceptance:
Oversee key milestone inspections and final project handoffs for large-scale landscape construction or renovation jobs.
Materials, Equipment & Fleet Management Material Coordination:
Schedule and stage plant material, sod, fertilizer, chemicals, hardscape materials, and irrigation components in alignment with project timelines.
Fleet & Machinery Maintenance:
Supervise daily inspections, routine maintenance logs, and repair requests for trucks, trailers, commercial mowers, sprayers, and chippers.
Inventory & Loss Prevention:
Monitor shop inventory, consumables, and tools to minimize loss and optimize usage.
Maintain regular contact with Property Managers, HOA boards, and commercial clients to address special requests, work orders, and service inquiries.
Enhancement Identification:
Proactively identify opportunities for landscape upgrades, tree trimming, and irrigation retrofits; coordinate with sales and estimating teams on proposals.
Internal Coordination:
Work closely with estimating, bidding, and accounting teams to review daily timecards and project billing milestones.
Safety Training & Regulatory Compliance Tailgate Safety Meetings:
Lead regular safety briefings to enforce mandatory PPE compliance, safe equipment operation, and vehicle road safety.
Regulatory & Industry Standards:
Ensure compliance with chemical application protocols (pesticide/fertilizer logs), Green Industries Best Management Practices (GI-BMP), tree work safety standards, and local municipal regulations.
Team Training & Mentorship:
Train crew leaders and new hires on field skills, standard practices, and safety protocols to build an efficient, skilled workforce.
Cost Control & Operations Metrics Labor & Efficiency Tracking:
Monitor actual hours versus budgeted hours, optimizing field routes to minimize non-productive travel time.
Job Costing Analysis:
Track labor, material, and equipment expenses per project to identify cost overruns and implement corrective measures.
Operational Reporting:
Compile daily completion logs, fleet availability, and project progress reports for executive management.
