Job Description
Company Overview Amelia Island Getaways (AIG) is a locally owned, hands on vacation-rental company built on high-touch service, integrity, and excellence. Founded and led by a husband-and-wife team, we remain personally involved in every part of the business — from property care and guest experience to owner relationships and team leadership. We currently manage a curated portfolio of about 100 properties and are intentionally focused on quality over quantity. Every home, guest, and owner relationship matters deeply to us — and that commitment shows in our reviews, retention, and reputation. Our Christian faith is central to how we operate. It shapes our commitment to accountability, honesty, and treating people the right way — values that guide every decision we make and define our culture of service. We're now seeking a Director of Operations to help us strengthen our foundation, elevate our team, and ensure the business runs smoothly and sustainably. Position Summary This is a key leadership role at AIG, responsible for overseeing the company's day-to-day operations and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. The Director of Operations leads execution across core departments, including guest experience, housekeeping, maintenance, and owner communication to ensure each area runs smoothly, stays on track, and delivers at a high standard. In this role, you will be highly involved in the daily flow of the business — monitoring progress, following up with team members, and making sure assigned tasks are completed fully and on time. You will serve as the central point of accountability, stepping in where needed to remove roadblocks, provide clarity, and keep operations moving forward. A major focus of this role is making sure everything is completed and accounted for by the end of each day — that all priorities have been addressed, loose ends are tied off, and the team is set up for success moving into the next day. This also involves identifying potential roadblocks with the current procedures and working with the management team to update processes and solve issues. This requires strong attention to detail, consistent communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role serves as the final checkpoint for daily operations. While many tasks are executed by team members, the Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring they are fully completed, communicated, and closed out appropriately. Success in this role is measured not only by tasks being assigned, but by outcomes being achieved and nothing important falling through the cracks. This position calls for a steady, hands-on leader who brings structure, organization, and follow-through to a fast-paced environment. Your impact will be seen in the consistency, reliability, and overall efficiency of daily operations.
Core Priorities:
- Daily Execution & Accountability
- ensuring all tasks are completed accurately, on time, and nothing is overlooked
- Team Follow-Through
- regularly checking in with team members, reinforcing expectations, and addressing gaps quickly
- Operational Consistency
- Identify operational issues and assess solutions to create a structured, reliable daily rhythm where everything is organized and "buttoned up" by day's end
- Guest Satisfaction
- maintaining the high standards and responsiveness AIG is known for Who You Are You're steady, reliable, and highly accountable — a "get it done" leader who takes ownership of the day-to-day and ensures everything is seen through to completion.
