Built upon a foundation of integrity, respect, relationships, results, and safety, we specialize in low-slope new construction, roof replacement, and proactive repair and maintenance. We heavily invest in our people through direct field supervision, continuous skills development, and an uncompromised, safety-first culture. We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Commercial Roofing Service Manager to oversee our daily service operations, manage service crews, and drive client relationships. Job Summary The Commercial Roofing Service Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Service Department. This role spans construction management, team development, sales, and service delivery. You will oversee service dispatching, estimate repair jobs, manage field technicians, enforce safety protocols, and work to maintain and build a loyal customer base. The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge of low-slope commercial roofing systems and excels in a fast-paced leadership environment.
Core Responsibilities Operations Management:
Direct daily schedules, manage the dispatch board in the company's field management software, and ensure work orders are efficiently completed and closed.
Team Leadership & Development:
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate service technicians and field personnel, fostering a collaborative team built on skills development and accountability.
Estimating & Job Costing:
Evaluate steep and low-slope roof issues, read technical specifications/drawings, write up repair estimates, and perform comprehensive job cost analysis.
Safety Enforcement:
Enforce strict adherence to all OSHA guidelines and Barber & Associates safety demands to preserve our safety-first culture.
Business Development & Client Relations:
Actively sell preventative maintenance agreements, manage client accounts, and provide diagnostic feedback to empower owners with projected roof life expectancies and budgeting.
Quality Assurance:
Review completed field work to ensure it satisfies manufacturer certifications, strict company standards, and protects the customer's assets.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in commercial roofing service management, supervision, or operations.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep expertise in low-slope and steep-slope commercial roofing systems, including TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, Metal, and specialized roof coatings.
Leadership Capabilities:
Proven history of training, leading, and evaluating field crews and roofing service technicians.
Software Proficiency:
Comfortable utilizing Microsoft Office and dedicated roofing/project management databases or field dispatch systems.
Physical & Environmental Ability:
Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions, climb ladders/stairways safely, and perform on-site roof evaluations.
Licensing:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (a company vehicle/truck is provided).
Travel Flexibility:
Willingness to travel regionally/statewide as required to review project sites or meet regional clients.
