Job Description

Fixed Operations Consultant / Operational Improvement Leader (Part Time or Full Time) Ocala Tractor is seeking a highly experienced automotive or equipment dealership professional to help strengthen and improve our dealership operations, with an immediate focus on Parts and Service. This opportunity is designed for a proven fixed-operations leader who has spent years building successful departments and is interested in applying that experience in a consulting, transitional leadership, or long-term operational role outside the traditional automotive dealership environment. We are not looking for someone to simply observe our operation and produce a report. We need a hands-on operator who can work alongside our managers, identify the real causes of underperformance, install practical processes, and help us create lasting accountability.
Key areas of focus include:
Parts and service workflow, productivity, and profitability Technician efficiency, billed-hour performance, and labor utilization Repair-order scheduling and work-in-process management Customer communication and follow-up standards Parts inventory accuracy, obsolescence, fill rates, and purchasing controls Internal repair orders, warranty processing, and departmental billing Service estimating, inspections, recommended repairs, and customer-pay growth Department staffing, management structure, and performance expectations Pay plans, scorecards, operating metrics, and manager accountability Communication and workflow between Sales, Parts, Service, and Accounting Developing managers so improvements remain in place after the engagement The ideal candidate will have: Significant leadership experience in automotive, truck, agricultural, construction-equipment, or powersports dealership operations A strong background in fixed operations, particularly Parts and Service Experience improving underperforming departments A working knowledge of dealership financial statements and departmental benchmarks The ability to diagnose problems while also implementing practical solutions A direct, professional leadership style and the ability to hold people accountable Experience developing service managers, parts managers, advisors, technicians, and support staff A willingness to spend meaningful time inside the departments—not manage exclusively from an office This position may be structured around the right person.
We are open to discussing:
A project-based consulting engagement Part-time or fractional fixed-operations leadership A transitional full-time role A permanent senior operations position A phased arrangement beginning with an operational assessment Ocala Tractor operates multiple locations and represents leading agricultural, construction, and outdoor-power-equipment brands. We have the people, customer base, and growth opportunities needed to succeed. We are looking for an experienced dealership operator who can help us turn that potential into consistent departmental performance. Compensation and structure will be based on experience, availability, and the scope of the engagement. All discussions will be handled confidentially. To begin a confidential conversation, please submit a résumé or a brief summary of your dealership experience, including examples of fixed-operations improvements you have personally led.
