We are currently seeking an Director of Operations to lead the company's end-to-end project execution, connecting design and engineering with fabrication and installation. This is a strategic, hands-on role responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards . The ideal candidate combines strong operational leadership with practical experience in specialty construction, metal fabrication, or related industries, and is comfortable working closely with both field teams and senior project stakeholders. What will you do in this position? You will oversee the operational performance of multiple projects, establishing priorities, allocating resources, and ensuring teams remain aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead project execution from design and engineering through fabrication, painting, installation, and closeout. Set operational priorities and coordinate Project Managers, engineers, foremen, shop teams, and installation crews. Develop schedules, manpower plans, and production priorities across active projects. Monitor progress, quality, productivity, and key milestones, both in the fabrication facility and in the field. Work directly with General Contractors, Superintendents, engineers, and other stakeholders to address project requirements and maintain strong relationships. Anticipate and resolve issues involving design, materials, fabrication, scheduling, or field conditions before they impact delivery. Manage RFIs, submittals, approvals, change orders, and other requirements that may affect execution. Establish clear accountability across operational teams and drive continuous improvement in productivity, coordination, and quality. Support the development of scalable processes that strengthen the company's operational capacity as it grows. What should you have beforehand? We are looking for professionals who have: 8-14 years of experience in operations or project leadership within architectural metals, specialty construction, metal fabrication, or comparable industries. At least 5 years leading project managers, foremen, fabrication teams, installers, or subcontractors. Experience managing multiple complex projects and teams simultaneously. Strong knowledge of project scheduling, resource planning, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, quality control, and closeout. Experience working with engineers, General Contractors, Superintendents, and field teams. A solid understanding of how design, fabrication, materials, and field conditions impact cost, schedule, and quality. A proven track record of improving productivity, processes, and operational discipline. A hands-on leadership style and willingness to spend significant time in both the shop and the field. South Florida construction experience is preferred. English required; Spanish strongly preferred .
