The CPG co-packing industry is a challenging, fast paced, and unpredictable field that requires a high-performing, initiative-driven leader who can orchestrate day-to-day operations as our Strategic Operations Virtuoso.The Role:
This 2nd-in-command position reports directly to the Owner and plays a critical role in driving performance, improving systems, and setting the precedence of reliability, consistency, and integrity. If you're someone who thrives on problem-solving, continuous learning, and leading by example, this role is for you.Your Background & Experience:
Proven leadership experience in operations, logistics, supply chain, restaurant or related field. Ability to plan and execute strategy, improve processes, and lead teams. Track record of problem-solving, and on the fly good decision-making, and leadership. Experience in organization and structure to improve efficiency, productivity and collaboration. Conduct & Elevate Operations by streamlining workflows, optimizing processes, and ensuring peak efficiency.Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
Minimum 2 years in food production, manufacturing, or a similar leadership role. BPCS certification for acidified foodsKnowledge:
Strong understanding of food safety standards, HACCP, GMP, and regulatory compliance.Leadership:
Ability to train, mentor, and lead a small production team effectively.Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and optimize processes.Detail-Oriented:
Commitment to maintaining quality control and accurate record-keeping.Technical Skills:
Familiarity with production equipment, batch records, and inventory systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word)Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.Forklift Certification:
Highly desirable not required. Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future work authorization or visa sponsorship for employmentKey Responsibilities:
Own production process, scheduling, and order fulfillment Inspect production area and keep clean and organized Manage production/line staff Evaluate performance metrics to ensure quality delivery and cost-efficient work-flow processes Participate in production & maintenance duties Reading and deciphering work orders. Manage ingredient and packaging inventory along with assist in the sourcing of these items Analyze, recommend and implement process improvement initiatives for associated functions. Actively participate in directing daily operations within the facility Be main point of contact for Sunbelt Packaging leadership Sanitation, Safety & Compliance Enforce strict adherence to food safety regulations (FDA, HAACP, local health codes, and GMP). Maintain and oversee sanitation practices, ensuring a clean and safe working environment. Conduct and document routine safety checks, addressing any issues promptly Train team members on safety procedures, food handling, and proper sanitation protocols. Maintain accurate production records, batch logs, and quality control reports. Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and other regulatory requirements.
