Construction Operations Manager Full-Time | Operations | On-Site / Field & Regional Travel | Brunswick, GA About the Role We are looking for an experienced Construction Operations Manager to own the day-to-day performance of multiple active construction projects. This is a hands-on operations leadership role responsible for keeping projects on schedule and on budget, ensuring crews and equipment are properly allocated, and identifying problems before they turn into delays. You will oversee multiple jobs simultaneously while working closely with project leaders, field crews, customers, subcontractors, and senior leadership. Just as importantly, you will be responsible for looking ahead—making sure upcoming projects are properly scheduled, staffed, resourced, and ready to execute. This role carries real ownership. Success means moving beyond reacting to problems and building an operation that consistently anticipates them. What You'll OwnConstruction Operations Review all active projects against schedule, budget, and production targets. Maintain visibility across multiple job sites and ensure field conditions match project plans. Identify projects that are behind schedule, over budget, or at risk and address issues early. Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other resources across projects. Ensure project teams have what they need to execute without unnecessary downtime. Track schedule changes, delays, change orders, and other issues affecting project performance. Maintain strong communication between field teams, project leadership, customers, and senior leadership. Ensure safety, quality, and operational standards are consistently followed across job sites. Forward Planning & Risk Management Maintain visibility into the upcoming 30-, 60-, and 90-day project pipeline. Ensure upcoming projects are properly scoped, scheduled, staffed, and resourced before mobilization. Identify potential labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, permitting, or scheduling conflicts before they affect execution. Maintain a clear list of anticipated operational risks and mitigation plans. Balance resources across multiple projects based on schedule, customer commitments, and financial impact. Establish clear priorities for crews and project leaders. Financial & Operational Performance Own operational performance across assigned construction projects. Track project revenue, costs, labor, equipment expenses, and margin against expectations. Identify opportunities to reduce operating expenses without compromising safety, quality, or schedule. Make informed cost-versus-schedule decisions, including overtime, additional labor, equipment rentals, and subcontractor utilization. Improve crew productivity, equipment utilization, project cycle times, and overall operational efficiency. Work with leadership to understand project profitability and identify underperforming jobs early. Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, and develop project leaders, foremen, field supervisors, and crews. Establish clear expectations and hold teams accountable for schedule, quality, safety, and performance. Develop strong field leaders who can independently own day-to-day execution. Identify and develop a second-in-command who can take increasing operational responsibility. Build bench strength and create opportunities for high-performing employees to take on greater responsibility. Address performance problems quickly and directly. Customer & Project Ownership Serve as a senior operational point of contact for customers across assigned projects. Maintain proactive communication regarding schedules, progress, delays, scope changes, and project issues. Handle difficult customer conversations directly and professionally. Build strong customer relationships that support repeat business and referrals. Identify opportunities for additional work, follow-on phases, and expanded project scope. Support estimating and business development by providing operational input on staffing, equipment, scheduling, and project feasibility. What We're Looking ForRequired 2+ years in an operations-management or construction-leadership role. Experience overseeing multiple crews, projects, or job sites simultaneously. Strong understanding of construction operations, field execution, equipment, labor planning, and project scheduling. Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, budgets, resources, and customer relationships. Ability to understand project financials and make operational decisions with profitability in mind. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-moving field environment. Clear and proactive communication with crews, customers, and leadership. Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly between active job sites.
