GA Fleet Manager Georgia Depot — Atlanta Metro Area This is a roll-up-your-sleeves role. We need a master mechanic who can manage a small fleet, lead drivers, travel to a breakdown, and still help out around the shop — all without being asked twice.

•$90,000 per year (Based on Experience) Position Summary Our client GA is looking for a Fleet Manager who is first and foremost a skilled mechanic — someone who knows trucks inside and out and can also manage the people who drive them. You will be responsible for keeping our Georgia fleet operational, coaching drivers on how to treat the equipment, managing outside vendors for repairs you can't handle in-house, and being ready to drive out to a breakdown anywhere in Georgia when the call comes in. This is not a desk job. But it's also not just a wrench-turning job. We need someone who can lead with authority and follow through with action. Essential Responsibilities Fleet Maintenance & Repair Perform and oversee maintenance and repair on CDL and non-CDL vehicles in the Georgia fleet Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines, drivetrains, braking systems, suspensions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and PTO-driven equipment Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules to keep trucks on the road Respond to and travel to roadside breakdowns anywhere within Georgia Manage emergency repairs and minimize vehicle downtime Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and repair history Ensure compliance with DOT, safety, and inspection requirements Vendor & Outside Repair Management Serve as primary point of contact with outside repair shops and vendors for out-of-house repairs Obtain quotes, schedule work, and oversee quality of vendor repairs Track vendor costs and escalate issues to management when needed Ensure outsourced repairs are completed on time and to standard Driver Management & Fleet Standards Train and coach drivers on proper pre-trip inspection procedures Monitor how drivers are treating vehicles and issue corrective action when needed Set and enforce expectations for how equipment is handled, reported, and returned Be a direct point of escalation when driver behavior is impacting fleet condition Shop & General Operations Support Assist around the shop with light repairs, clean-up, and general maintenance tasks Help with deliveries of packaged goods and bulk oil when operationally needed Support the depot team in keeping the facility organized and running smoothly Qualifications 5+ years of fleet maintenance experience with medium and heavy-duty trucks Demonstrated skill as a master mechanic — you can diagnose and fix it, not just identify it Experience managing or supervising drivers, technicians, or shop staff Comfortable managing outside vendors and holding them accountable Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain Ability and willingness to travel within Georgia on short notice for breakdowns Strong communication skills — written and verbal Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Teams for daily coordination Preferred Experience Experience with fuel delivery trucks, oil service equipment, tanker vehicles, or specialty fleet Knowledge of tank systems, pumps, meters, and fluid transfer equipment Experience with hydraulic systems and PTO-driven equipment Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Previous experience as a Lead Mechanic, Shop Foreman, or Fleet Supervisor What We're Looking For A mechanic first — someone with deep hands-on knowledge who has grown into a leadership role Someone who doesn't wait to be asked — they see a problem and handle it A firm but fair people manager who can coach drivers and hold the line when needed Organized enough to track repairs, vendors, and schedules without things falling through the cracks Someone who takes pride in keeping a fleet clean, safe, and running

Additional Info:

70% hands on, 20% management, 10% other Cell Phone "always" on if there is breakdowns after hours We carry basic tools and any specialized tools for our specific vocation applications, cut candidates should have their own tools that reflect their skill level 6am-2pm on site Monday

•Friday The driving team is 2.5FTE currently. The candidate will be working in conjunction with the Director to oversee DT truck operations. They will also work alongside side the Service Manager when work is needed on the Service Fleet There is currently: 4 class 6 delivery trucks, 6 class 2 service vehicles and 1 class 1 management vehicle. There are also 3 trailers and 4 small gas powered engine tools that receive maintenance.

$80,000.00
