Job Description

Carmichael Development is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Field Superintendent to lead field operations on underground utility, grading, and site development projects. This position is for an experienced field leader who knows how to run a jobsite, lead crews, coordinate equipment and subcontractors, read plans, solve problems in the field, and keep production moving safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience , with strong hands-on knowledge of underground utilities, earthwork, grading, and site development . Superintendent or comparable field leadership experience is strongly preferred. What You'll Do As a Field Superintendent, you will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of assigned projects in the field, including: Lead and coordinate daily field operations, crews, equipment, and subcontractors. Manage heavy civil construction activities including mass grading, fine grading, excavation, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, water utilities, and related sitework . Plan daily and weekly production activities to keep projects on schedule. Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, grading plans, utility plans, and project details . Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, trucking, and other resources needed for production. Provide clear direction to foremen and field crews. Monitor field productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Coordinate with Project Managers and other company leadership regarding schedules, production, jobsite needs, and potential issues. Ensure work is installed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards. Identify field conflicts and proactively develop solutions before they impact the schedule. Coordinate inspections, testing, subcontractors, vendors, and deliveries as necessary. Maintain an organized, professional, and productive jobsite. Enforce company safety policies and ensure crews follow safe work practices. Conduct or participate in daily safety meetings and jobsite planning. Monitor jobsite conditions and immediately address safety concerns. Assist with documenting daily production, manpower, equipment usage, and field progress. Maintain strong communication between field personnel and project management. Take ownership of the project and help drive it from mobilization through successful completion.
Pay:
$105,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
