Job Description

At Solar Transport, we don't just offer jobs, we offer adventures. The Operations Manager plays a key role in supporting day-to-day transportation operations across the region by working closely with drivers, operations leadership, dispatch, safety, and maintenance teams. This position focuses on driver support, operational planning, performance tracking, customer satisfaction, and helping improve operational efficiency across multiple terminals and markets. The ideal candidate will have strong transportation or trucking operations experience, understand how regional fleet operations function, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires strong communication, problem solving, and frequent travel throughout the region .
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Drives revenue and profitability by optimizing assets, controlling costs, and closing performance gaps through data analysis and continuous improvement. Leads operational planning and scheduling, partnering with regional leadership to align staffing, equipment, and resources with short- and long-term business goals. Oversees driver recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and retention, addressing issues and improving performance through coaching and support. Strengthens customer relationships and supports business growth by ensuring service satisfaction, collaborating on pricing and forecasts, and increasing contracted volumes. Champions safety by enforcing policies, ensuring proper training and equipment, managing incident reporting, and fostering a strong safety culture. Ensures operational efficiency and compliance through accurate documentation, use of technology systems, and support of broader operational initiatives. Monitors key performance metrics (e.g., revenue, retention, efficiency, and expenses) while providing overall team leadership, supervision, and accountability for results.
Qualifications:
Education High School diploma (required), with advanced training and education (preferred)

Experience 5+ Years experience in the transportation industry, experience in bulk fuel transportation Previous experience in trucking line management

Compensation & Benefits Pay Range:
$68,000-$80,000/year + DOE and Bonus Opportunities The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Maverik considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
