Job Description
Assists Operations Manager with planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and supervising the overall operation of and maintenance of the Arena. Maintains Arena Cleanliness. Assists with managing seasonal employees in the division. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the City's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include participating in the training of seasonal employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; and handling complaints and resolving problems, subject to the review of the Operations Manager. This list may not include all tasks and/or knowledge which may be expected of the employee, nor does it cover all specific duties which may be required. Other duties may be assigned. Helps oversee, schedule, coordinate, and supervise all operations staff. Helps oversee and perform basic maintenance functions as needed to ensure Arena is clean and free of hazards. Assists with planning of additional staffing and operations needs during large arena events. Helps develop schedules for all operations staff. Helps coordinate and supervise the hiring needs for operational staff. Assists the Operations Manager with daily reports and deposits. Helps maintain and monitor equipment inventory. Assists with developing staff manuals for Operations Staff. Attends professional conferences, seminars, workshops, and/or classes to remain current on trends and innovations in the industry. Participates in the hiring process for seasonal staff and ensures their compliance with City policies and Arena procedures. Helps monitor and track time and attendance for seasonal employees by documenting leave use and availability for work scheduling. Makes recommendations concerning employment, dismissal, reprimands, and related actions for seasonal employees. Oversees the Ice in and Ice out of rink. Oversees the training of the custodial, ice, and event staff. Oversees the maintenance of the ice.
