This role owns operational execution, safety performance, contract compliance, and leadership effectiveness across geographically dispersed installations. This is not a desk-based executive role. This role involves frequent traveling. Success requires strong field presence, disciplined and data-driven oversight, and close partnership with company leadership to ensure operational decisions align with strategic priorities, risk tolerance, and financial expectations. What You'll Do Operational Leadership Lead regional operations supporting grounds maintenance in privatized housing on military installations across multiple states Ensure consistently outstanding service for each client through strong site presence, proactive communication, and disciplined execution of contract requirements Oversee production planning and execution, ensuring production goals are met and exceeded and high quality is consistently delivered Ensure contract compliance and service-level performance by actively monitoring labor hours, contract specifications, safety performance, quality indicators, and operational KPIs Assist in creating and managing budgets while coordinating operational execution to meet project and organizational objectives. Safety, Structure & Readiness Champion Munie's prevention-based safety culture and Stop Work Authority Ensure consistent execution of company safety standards, client requirements, and site-specific protocols Review incidents, near misses, and corrective actions with a systems-focused, prevention-oriented mindset Maintain high operational readiness across all assigned sites through disciplined safety execution, documentation, and follow-through People Leadership Directly manage Regional Managers and/or Operations Managers Set clear expectations, provide direct feedback, and coach leaders toward consistent execution Address underperformance promptly, constructively, and with accountability Build leadership bench strength and long-term operational stability Partnership, Communication & Escalation Work in close partnership with company leadership, Operations, Safety, HR, and Finance Make timely operational decisions in the field within established standards and in alignment with leadership, with clear expectations for communication and escalation Surface issues involving material risk, client impact, safety exposure, or deviation from contract expectations early and address them collaboratively How Success Is Measured Success in this role is reflected through: Consistent contract compliance across all assigned sites Stable labor performance aligned with contract specifications and budgets Strong safety execution with positive leading indicators High client confidence and satisfaction across installations Operational issues identified and resolved before escalation Travel & Field Presence Expectations This role requires significant, sustained travel to military installations across multiple states. The Director of Operations is expected to spend meaningful time in the field supporting teams, inspecting work, engaging with clients, and reinforcing operational and safety standards. Travel frequently includes overnight stays, multi-day site visits, and time spent in outdoor and active operational environments. While schedules are planned whenever possible, flexibility is essential due to weather events, inspections, contract requirements, and operational priorities. Success in this role requires the ability to maintain focus, judgment, and professionalism during sustained travel and peak operational periods.
