Fleet Operations Manager

Silver Trucking is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Fleet Operations Manager to oversee daily trucking operations and help lead our growing company. This is a high-responsibility leadership role focused on freight coverage, planner oversight, driver utilization, operational efficiency, and ensuring the operation runs smoothly every day. We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, fully available, and capable of handling a fast-paced trucking environment. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who can hold teams accountable, solve problems quickly, and maintain operational control across the fleet. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations for approximately 60+ drivers Supervise and support a team of planners/dispatchers Work closely with driver management, safety, and maintenance coordination Ensure all freight is properly covered and serviced efficiently Review planner decisions and verify driver-to-load assignments make operational sense Monitor planning boards throughout the day to prevent service failures Assist with resolving operational emergencies, service issues, and customer escalations Ensure trucks and trailers are available and dispatch-ready Coordinate with maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and resolve breakdowns quickly Monitor driver productivity, communication, and overall fleet efficiency Ensure planners are maximizing utilization while minimizing deadhead and service issues Help improve operational workflow, accountability, and communication across departments Be available to assist with urgent operational matters when needed Qualifications Previous trucking operations, dispatch, or fleet management experience required Strong understanding of dispatching, load planning, and trucking operations Leadership experience managing dispatchers/planners preferred Ability to multitask and make decisions under pressure Strong communication and problem-solving skills Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service preferred Ability to lead teams and hold staff accountable Experience working in a fast-paced trucking environment

From $75,000.00 per year
