Operations Manager•
University Park, IL Pay:
$80,000•$85,000
Shift:
Monday•Friday 6AM-3PM •Second-shift and occasional weekend work may be required during peak business periods. We are seeking an Operations Manager to join our dynamic team! This role offers the opportunity to oversee daily operations, ensure efficiency, and lead a dedicated team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate activities of dock workers and other personnel involved in loading and unloading trucks. Ensure compliance with customer audit assessments scores and consistently yield passing audit scores. Lead and develop a team of dock supervisors, line leads, equipment operators, custodial, quality control, and general warehouse associates to maximize their utilization, efficiency, and accuracy within the warehouse operation. Keep a neat, clean, and orderly warehouse environment and holds all associates accountable to this standard. Drive profitability metrics by setting unload and load plan and hold team accountable to performance metrics. Plan and schedule dock operations to optimize workflow and minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. Train and mentor dock personnel on safety policies and procedures. Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate recording of shipments using YMS and WMS software. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate logistics and transportation activities. Oversee yard operations team to ensure timely and efficient movement of trailers. Oversee guard security compliance standards to ensure consistency and compliance.
Qualifications:
2-3 years proven experience in a supervisory role within logistics, transportation, or a related field. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
