Company Overview Visiting Angels of East Central Indiana is a locally owned home care agency serving older adults and families throughout East Central Indiana. Our mission is to provide dependable, compassionate care while building a strong operational system that supports clients, caregivers, and sustainable growth. We are entering the next stage of growth and are seeking a senior operational leader who can turn vision into reliable daily execution. Job Summary We are seeking a Director of Operations to lead the agency's daily operating system through strong department leaders, measurable accountability, disciplined client protection, and consistent follow-through. This is not a narrow office-management role. The Director of Operations will be responsible for strengthening cross-department execution, coaching leaders, identifying and correcting operational risk, improving compliance and financial controls, and building systems that can support continued growth. The position reports directly to the Owner/CEO and is primarily on-site in Anderson, Indiana. On-site presence is expected throughout the first 90 days, with local travel and occasional availability for significant after-hours escalation. Responsibilities Lead the agency's daily operations through department leaders and establish clear ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
Oversee and coordinate functions including:
HR and office operations Scheduling and staffing Training and development Care management Intake and marketing Recruiting coordination Billing support Field supervision Use scorecards, KPIs, and operating data to identify missed targets and drive corrective action. Strengthen caregiver performance management and leadership accountability. Support implementation and ongoing management of the Rapid Response Caregiver, Field Supervisor, and Mentor/Angel Ambassador programs. Maintain strong compliance, documentation, audit readiness, and operational controls. Strengthen billing, payroll, authorization, and verification processes. Identify operational risks involving client service, compliance, staffing, financial performance, or reputation and ensure they are resolved appropriately. Coach managers and team leaders while reducing unnecessary dependence on the Owner/CEO for routine operational decisions. Build repeatable workflows, management rhythms, and systems that continue to function effectively without constant executive intervention. Help expand organizational capacity and support sustainable growth beyond 2,000 weekly service hours. Qualifications Typically 5+ years of progressive experience in operations, healthcare, human services, staffing, multi-site service leadership, or a comparable environment. Approximately 3+ years of experience supervising managers, supervisors, team leads, or multiple functions. Demonstrated success leading cross-functional operations and holding leaders accountable for results. Strong judgment in regulated, high-responsibility, or high-consequence environments. Experience using financial and operating data such as budgets, labor, productivity, billing, margin, KPIs, or variance reporting to make decisions. Ability to coach leaders, address poor performance, and make difficult decisions professionally and consistently. Experience building repeatable systems, workflows, scorecards, or operating structures. Bachelor's degree preferred, not required. Home care, home health, hospice, senior living, healthcare staffing, Medicaid/IHCP, IDOH, VA, EVV, payer-audit, or dispersed-workforce experience is especially valuable but not required. Compensation $60,000-$75,000 annual base salary, based on experience and demonstrated capability. Performance-incentive eligibility is available.
