Job Description

One of the largest home delivery and distribution companies in the U.S. and is seeking an experienced Operations Manager. The Operations Manager provides support for home delivery services for the designated market area. This role will also be the liaison between Spirit Logistics and our contracted partner. Position is responsible for managing daily operations of contract carriers. Responsible for generating positive customer satisfaction.
Job Duties:
Manage contracted driver scheduling, and maintain positive relationship with contract carriers Manage morning check in and cross dock load out Monitor, analyze and adjust shipping schedules, and routes to improve delivery service Direct dispatching staff and managing contracted drivers, carrier scheduling, and recruitment Monitor, analyze and adjust shipping schedules, and routes to improve delivery service Execute customer contract requirements, handle home damage claims, and monitor return procedures Execute weekly facility billing Recruitment and retention of contract carriers Sunday through Thursday schedule Qualifications /
Requirements:
Experience executing customer contract requirements at service levels that exceed the customer's standards and metrics Experience with recruiting, retention and managing contract drivers Managing office staff. Excellent written / verbal communication skills Leadership and motivational skills Must be willing to work flexible schedule to include weekends Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook Minimum of 2 years of transportation/logistics management experience Excellent interpersonal skills, and problem-solving ability Knowledge of DOT regulations a plus Experience in managing a P&L Bilingual a plus #
