Standard Internship $ Paid $15.00/hr Part Time Description King's Play Cafe is a family-friendly entertainment and play center that provides a welcoming and engaging environment for children and families. Our work-based learning program offers the learner hands-on experience in hospitality by supporting guest service, front-of-house operations, and overall customer experience in a professional setting. The learner will receive direct supervision, training, and mentorship from the owner/manager and designated staff members, who will provide guidance on customer service, communication, teamwork, workplace professionalism, and hospitality best practices. Learning goals for the learner include developing strong communication, problem-solving, organization, time management, teamwork, and customer service skills, while gaining a better understanding of hospitality operations and how to create a positive guest experience. Responsibilities King's Play Cafe's Hospitality intern will support guest experience projects that help create a welcoming and professional environment for families. Responsibilities may include greeting and assisting guests, observing and supporting front-of-house operations, helping prepare guest areas, assisting with customer service follow-up, supporting cleanliness and organization of public spaces, and observing how hospitality standards are maintained throughout the day. The learner may also help with simple guest feedback collection, monitor the flow of visitors, and contribute ideas for improving the overall guest experience. These responsibilities are designed to provide hands-on learning and project support rather than routine employee duties. Qualifications King's Play Cafe's Hospitality intern should be a dependable, friendly student with strong communication and customer service skills. The learner should be comfortable working in a team, following directions, and interacting with guests in a professional and welcoming manner. A positive attitude, attention to detail, good organization, and an interest in hospitality or guest experience are preferred. No prior experience is required, as this internship is designed to provide introductory hands-on learning. Learning Objectives The learner will gain a foundational understanding of hospitality and guest service in a family-friendly business environment. Learning objectives include developing communication, teamwork, organization, problem-solving, time management, and customer service skills.
