Job Title:
HVAC Install Manager Job Description The HVAC Install Manager leads all residential HVAC installation operations, overseeing field technicians and crew leads to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role collaborates closely with sales, service, warehouse, and administrative teams to deliver high-quality installations and an exceptional customer experience across a broad service territory. Responsibilities Manage and supervise HVAC installation technicians and crew leads to ensure consistent performance and adherence to standards. Train, mentor, and evaluate team members on technical skills, safety practices, and quality workmanship. Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain installation staff to build and maintain a high-performing team. Provide field-based technical support and troubleshooting to assist technicians with complex installations and issues. Coordinate installation schedules and daily operations to optimize staffing, resources, and timelines. Monitor project timelines, labor costs, and material usage to ensure jobs stay on schedule and within budget. Review job scopes and specifications with sales teams to confirm feasibility, requirements, and installation plans. Conduct site visits and quality inspections to verify that installations meet company and manufacturer standards. Enforce OSHA and safety compliance requirements to maintain a safe work environment in the field and shop. Oversee permitting and inspection processes in partnership with administrative teams to ensure regulatory compliance. Address customer concerns and resolve installation issues promptly and professionally. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by maintaining strong communication, clean work practices, and reliable follow-through. Track key performance indicators such as productivity, revenue, callbacks, quality metrics, and customer satisfaction scores. Maintain accurate installation records, documentation, and reports for all projects. Manage inventory, tools, equipment, and company vehicles to ensure they are available, maintained, and used responsibly. Collaborate with service and warehouse teams to coordinate materials, equipment staging, and job readiness. Support continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and recommending operational enhancements. Essential Skills At least 5+ years of HVAC installation experience in residential environments. A minimum of 2+ years of team leadership or management experience in HVAC or a closely related field. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, installation practices, and applicable codes and standards. Demonstrated project management skills, including scheduling, resource allocation, and cost control. Proficiency with HVAC equipment and related tools used in residential installations. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and clear, professional interaction with clients. Ability to interpret job scopes, specifications, and manufacturer requirements and translate them into actionable installation plans. Experience enforcing safety standards and OSHA compliance in field operations. High school diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications NATE certification or similar industry-recognized credential. Experience managing permitting and inspection processes for residential HVAC projects. Experience in tracking and analyzing KPIs such as productivity, revenue, callbacks, and customer satisfaction. Ability to provide hands-on technical support in the field for complex installations or troubleshooting. Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and developing installation teams. Comfort working across departments, including sales, service, warehouse, and administration. Approximately 70% of the time is spent in the field overseeing installations, conducting site visits, and supporting technicians, while about 30% is spent in the office managing schedules, documentation, and coordination with other departments. The territory includes all of San Diego County and extends into surrounding areas as needed. The position includes the use of a company vehicle and gas card for travel within the territory. You will work closely with installation teams, sales, service, warehouse, and administrative staff in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and efficient operations. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of San Marcos, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $105000.00
