Job Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations Management Participate in the execution of large capital projects
  • Identify gaps in asset design and allocation which limit efficiency, productivity or productive capacity
  • Assist MD's and SOTG management in evaluating process capability and setting reasonable targets for plant and business performance
Standard Operating Procedures:
Develop best practice criteria and documentation for all aspects of manufacturing Administer the operations audit process including the coordination of scheduling, reporting, responses, and senior-level approvals Facilitate the GMP awards program tied to the above Build processes and resources for the correction and improvement of non-conformances Improve competencies through gap analysis and training resources Safety Management Develop and implement the overall safety strategy aligned with company goals. Ensure compliance with SOTG safety and regulatory requirements or local requirements (whichever is more stringent). Set safety performance targets and monitor progress including development of SIF focused programs to eliminate highest risk activities. Provide guidance on safety priorities. Allocate resources for safety programs and initiatives. Foster a culture of safety across all affiliates. Information Technology Create and implement strategies for the deployment of data analytics tools across industrial and trading operations to improve information flow and decision making Identify and implement data management systems and providers for functional areas such as plant maintenance and production Identify gaps in internal controls utilizing ERP disciplines to minimize potential losses in coordination with SOTG financial and IT management Develop strategies to keep plants up to date in the areas of plant automation and SCADA systems
  • Increase data capture efficiency and quality through systems integration Risk Management Lead in raising standards which reduce risk to personnel, plant, and equipment in the industrial operations. Work with Seaboard risk department in administering risk recommendation improvements
  • Seek out external perspectives and innovate to support affiliates with cost effective risk reduction actions and programs Provide replacement cost estimates for manufacturing assets
  • Maintain knowledge of current international standards relating to environmental, health and safety while assisting affiliates in implementation
  • Financial Periodic assistance in development, justification, and due diligence for certain division acquisitions, merger activities and new business ventures Assistance with CapEx planning, prioritization and justification for industrial locations
  • Review, approve, and suggest amendments to ARs related to manufacturing or other core job functions Educate SOTG financial analysts concerning reconciliation of stock movements and production quantities Personnel Supervise and manage the activities of the SOG Safety Manager and the Sr.
Group Operations Analyst . Participate in hiring, development and selection of key operations managers employed directly or indirectly by SOTG
  • Work with operations site management to establish and monitor KPI's for each of the flour/maize/Feed/Pasta, etc.

as to the general state of business developments in areas of responsibility These responsibilities will be coordinated with the support and direction of Seaboard's SVP Operations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
15+ years job-related experience, minimum of 5 years in cereal or grain related business Required Bachelor's Degree in Milling or Bakery Science, Engineering or Manufacturing Master's Degree preferred (MBA or Information Systems) Knowledge and experience with ERP Systems (e.g. Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Sage) Basic AutoCAD experience Database design and architecture concepts
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with employees, customers, bankers, partners and suppliers Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills Must be extremely analytical with the ability to persist to root level cause/effect; analyze complex issues to include statistical analysis, linear regression and linear programming principles High attention to detail Leadership skills to include the ability to project an image of confidence and competence when speaking and collaborating with others Basic knowledge of one or more languages is plus (French, Portuguese, Spanish) Must be willing and able to travel approximately 25% to third world countries
