Director of Operations

About the role We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead and optimise end-to-end operations across a multi-site manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, scaling performance, and delivering sustainable growth across production, supply chain, and continuous improvement functions. You will play a key role in shaping operational strategy while ensuring efficient execution across complex, high-volume manufacturing facilities. Key Responsibilities Lead all operational functions, including manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and continuous improvement Drive performance across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with business objectives and growth targets Own and manage full P&L, with accountability for cost control, margin improvement, and operational efficiency Implement and embed Lean / Six Sigma methodologies to improve productivity and reduce waste Optimise production processes, capacity planning, and resource allocation across facilities Develop and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement Partner with commercial and leadership teams to support strategic growth and customer delivery Oversee capital investment projects, operational transformation, and site expansions Requirements Proven experience as a Director of Operations or senior operations leader within a heavy manufacturing environment Strong background in industries such as building products, automotive, data centre infrastructure, or pharmaceutical manufacturing Demonstrated experience managing multi-site operations and large-scale teams Full P&L ownership with a track record of driving profitability and operational performance Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement frameworks Experience in high-volume, process-driven manufacturing environments Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills What We're Looking For A strategic operator who can translate vision into execution A hands-on leader with a strong track record of improving operational performance Someone comfortable working in complex, fast-paced, and evolving environments A leader who can scale operations while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency
