35222 widget: Full-Time None No - Teleworking not available for this position $51773.04-$64716.54 Position Description & Qualifications Position Summary The Highway Safety Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily field operations and personnel supporting highway safety activities. This role ensures efficient staffing, route assignments, operational effectiveness, and compliance with established procedures. The supervisor supports workforce management, operational planning, employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a high level of service delivery and safety. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monitor and oversee daily field operations and activities of Highway Safety Operations personnel. Review and confirm daily staffing schedules and coordinate field route assignments to ensure operational coverage and efficiency. Assist with recruitment efforts, including reviewing resumes, participating in interviews, and providing hiring and promotion recommendations. Prepare and maintain operational correspondence, reports, presentations, schedules, forms, training materials, personnel documentation, and electronic communications. Identify and report equipment and vehicle maintenance or repair requirements to management. Participate in operational analyses to assess performance and effectiveness, including route planning, staffing requirements, reporting methodologies, traffic trends, service demands, and response effectiveness. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Operations Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and operational guidelines. Participate in Post-Incident Analysis activities as requested by management or the customer. Support employee training, coaching, and performance management initiatives. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety regulations, and customer requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant operational experience. At least two (2) years of supervisory or team leadership experience. Demonstrated ability to coordinate field operations and manage personnel schedules. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard business software. Ability to prepare reports, presentations, and operational documentation. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting transportation, traffic management, highway safety, emergency response, or related field operations. Experience developing or maintaining operational procedures and training materials. Knowledge of traffic management principles, roadway safety practices, and incident response operations.
