Job Description

We're seeking a dedicated Environmental Care Supervisor to lead a team committed to excellence, service, and innovation in one of the nation's most respected healthcare institutions. Day/Evening/Overnight shifts available! Position Summary As the Supervisor of Environmental Care , you will play a key leadership role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, families, healthcare providers, researchers, and visitors. Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Care, you will manage daily operations, set departmental priorities, and ensure that performance standards exceed the expectations of our diverse community. Your leadership will drive team performance, foster collaboration, and promote service excellence aligned with Johns Hopkins' mission and values. What You'll Do Plan, schedule, and supervise environmental care staff and operations across assigned areas. Ensure consistent quality, safety, and compliance with hospital, state, and federal standards. Utilize quality assurance tools to achieve superior cleanliness and satisfaction scores. Support and train staff to improve HCAHPS and Press Ganey results. Coordinate closely with other Facilities and Safety departments to ensure seamless service delivery. Manage inventory, requisitions, and participate in departmental budgeting. Promote a culture of safety and professional growth among team members.
What You'll Bring Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in environmental services or a related field within a unionized, multiuse facility. At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience (healthcare experience preferred).
Knowledge & Skills:
Expertise in healthcare cleaning, floor care, and waste management operations. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and infection control practices. Proficiency with computer applications including email, spreadsheets, and work order systems. Salary Range:
Minimum 25.29/hour - Maximum 44.28/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
