UPMC Western Maryland is seeking a Supervisor to support our Specialty Imaging Services! a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } The Specialty Imaging Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the imaging department within their area of licensure while providing support for one to two additional imaging modalities. This role supervises staff and departmental operations, promotes efficient workflow, delegates responsibilities, maintains appropriate staffing levels, and ensures timely communication with staff and leadership. The Supervisor serves as a resource for team members and supports the delivery of high-quality patient care and exceptional customer service across assigned imaging areas. The full-time schedule will work primarily daylight shifts with start times ranging from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM based on modality assignment. This position participates in a weekly administrative call rotation and may occasionally provide evening, night, weekend, or holiday coverage to support departmental staffing needs. a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, along with a commitment to collaboration in a team-focused environment. Experience across multiple sonography modalities is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Ensures staff are properly oriented and performs annual performance evaluations of staff. Assists in the development, revision and implementation of department policies, procedures, and QA initiatives. Communicates and enforces policies and procedures to staff. Remains current regarding developments in the field of radiology and attends training sessions to maintain knowledge as necessary. Ensures that all quality control tests and procedures are conducted and documented and that performance of all equipment is accurate within established parameters to meet regulatory requirements. Ensures repairs are addressed in a timely manner. Participates in the budgeting process and strives to maintain costs and meet the budget of supplies and clinical staffing operations. Monitors employee compliance with safety standards and ensure standards are enforced. Engages in staff recognition and staff empowerment while maintaining a focus on the patient experience. Provides input to staff interviews and makes hiring decisions. Maintains records and reports for each staff member to ensure performance is met and has crucial conversations with staff when needed. Ensures efficient work flow, delegation of responsibilities, efficient staffing levels, and timely communication to both staff and other members of management are maintained throughout the department.
