Job Description
Maine Warrior Gym helps kids build confidence through ninja warrior, parkour, and movement. Our programs include classes, birthday parties, camps, open gym, and special events. We're looking for a resourceful, dependable Operations Manager to lead our team, improve daily operations, and help grow the business. You'll work directly with the owner, with room to make decisions, implement ideas, and see the results of your leadership. Strong performance can lead to expanded responsibility and meaningful long-term incentives tied to the business's success. What You'll Do Lead and Develop the Team Coordinate coaches, party hosts, and front-desk staff. Manage scheduling and coverage to meet customer demand. Help recruit, onboard, and train dependable employees. Implement a new incentive and demerit system to improve employee accountability. Set clear expectations, provide feedback, and hold staff accountable. Build a positive team culture centered on professionalism and follow-through. Run and Improve Daily Operations Keep classes, parties, camps, open gym, and events organized and running on time. Ensure staff, equipment, supplies, and spaces are ready for customers. Improve procedures, checklists, and internal communication. Oversee opening, closing, cleaning, payments, and routine administrative tasks. Coordinate maintenance and purchasing, solve problems, and prevent recurring issues. Deliver an Excellent Customer Experience Build welcoming relationships with families, members, and guests. Resolve concerns professionally and ensure timely follow-up. Keep the facility clean, organized, and inviting. Help the team turn first visits into lasting customer relationships. Grow the Gym and Increase Revenue Develop referral programs, customer promotions, and staff incentives that drive profitable growth. Improve sales strategies, including inquiry follow-up, trial bookings, enrollment, and renewals. Train staff to explain programs confidently, recommend options, and ask for the sale. Turn party, camp, and open-gym visits into memberships and repeat bookings. Coordinate advertising, social media, email marketing, and local outreach with the owner and marketing support. Build partnerships with schools, community organizations, and local businesses. Identify opportunities to fill classes, increase bookings, retain customers, and introduce profitable offerings. Monitor Business Performance Track enrollment, retention, bookings, sales conversions, and marketing results. Monitor staffing costs, purchasing, and other controllable expenses. Use results to adjust priorities and improve profitability. Meet regularly with the owner to review progress and opportunities. Maintain Safety and Program Standards Ensure staff follow safety procedures and incident-reporting requirements. Coordinate facility and equipment checks and address hazards promptly. Work with experienced coaches to maintain consistent, engaging programs. Ensure instructional staff receive appropriate training and support. Depending on your experience and interests, you may occasionally assist with a class or activity after appropriate training. Coaching is a secondary possibility—not the primary focus. Ninja or parkour coaching experience is not required.
