https://www.linkedin.com/company/kerry-brothers-truck-repair/ Position Overview As General Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall performance of a Kerry Brothers Truck Repair location. You'll lead the service, technician, and parts teams; oversee daily workflow; maintain a high standard of customer service and repair quality; and ensure the shop operates safely, efficiently, and profitably. This role requires a leader who can see the big picture while staying engaged in day-to-day operations. What You'll Do- Lead daily shop operations and provide direction to Service Advisors, Technicians, Parts, and support staff
- Build a positive, accountable, team-first culture and reinforce Kerry Brothers core values
- Monitor workflow, technician productivity, efficiency, labor utilization, work-in-progress, and overall shop performance
- Ensure repair orders move through the shop efficiently from customer intake through completion and delivery
- Work with Service Advisors and technicians to resolve repair, scheduling, communication, and customer concerns
- Maintain high standards for repair quality, documentation, inspections, safety, and customer satisfaction
- Review operational and financial performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and take action to meet company goals
- Manage staffing needs, scheduling, attendance, performance, coaching, training, and employee development
- Partner with leadership and HR on recruiting, onboarding, retention, and career development
- Support parts and inventory processes to help ensure technicians have the correct parts and materials when needed
- Help control operating costs, reduce unnecessary downtime and rework, and protect shop profitability
- Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet customers and help resolve escalated customer concerns
- Ensure company policies, safety procedures, DOT requirements, and applicable shop regulations are followed
- Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and safe facility
- Communicate regularly with company leadership regarding location performance, staffing, customer needs, and operational challenges
- Drive continuous improvement and help implement company processes, systems, and growth initiatives What We're Looking For
- Management or leadership experience in heavy-duty truck repair, fleet maintenance, automotive service, transportation, or a related service industry
- Strong understanding of repair-shop workflow, service operations, technician productivity, and customer service
- Ability to lead, coach, hold employees accountable, and build a strong team culture
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable reviewing performance metrics and using data to make operational decisions
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced repair environment
- Strong customer-service mindset with the ability to professionally handle escalated concerns
- Working knowledge of heavy-duty trucks, diesel repair, preventative maintenance, and DOT-related service operations preferred
- Experience working with shop management software, estimating systems, or repair-order platforms preferred
- Valid driver's license Additional Qualifications
- Previous General Manager, Service Manager, Shop Manager, Fleet Manager, or Fixed Operations leadership experience
- Experience managing both technicians and front-office/service personnel
- Experience with budgeting, P&L responsibility, labor performance, and operational KPIs
- State of Michigan or ASE certifications
- CDL or heavy-duty commercial vehicle experience
